Chapter 98
Eric enters Drew's office, "We haven't paid those mercenaries yet. It's been over two weeks, and they still have the cars."
"Yeah, I forgot about them. Give them a call and put the money in the post office like we did the down payment. Make sure you tell them that they have to get rid of the cars someplace they won't be found."
"I'll call them now, the burner phone is in my desk." Eric goes to his office "I'm calling to set up the rest of the payment. I want you to go to the same post office in San Jose. Remember you have to get rid of the cars. Drop them off a cliff into the ocean. I don't care; I don't want them found."
"Hold on, we weren't supposed to get rid of the cars. The deal was to drop them off. You have also left us sitting here an extra four days. You owe us for leaving us here in this flea-bitten motel."
"Yeah, I know we are late calling we can give you extra for your inconvenience, but the job was for you to get rid of the cars."
"No, if we had to get rid of them, we wouldn't have brought them all the way here and waited for a damn call. There are lots of places on the other side of the country to get rid of cars."
"There must have been a miscommunication. You do have to get rid of the cars."
"Let's put it this way, we get 10,000 for staying in this motel and having to wait for your call. If you want us to get rid of the cars then you will pay us 20,000 per car. So, you got a good incentive to pay us. I can always leave the cars in the police parking lot with a note in them saying these are the cars that stole that famous musician, Melody."
"At 20,000 a car that is an extra 80,000. What the hell, that is extortion."
"You forgot the 10,000 for leaving us waiting. So, we are talking 90,000."
"Are you nuts! We are not going to pay you that much extra."
"Then the cars go to the cops."
"I have to talk to my boss I will call you back."
"It better be today because I am not sitting around here and waiting for you to get off your asses."
Eric stormed into see Drew. "We have a problem; they want more money. He said no one told him they had to ger rid of the cars, he was supposed to drop them off. He also wants 10,000 for having to stay at that motel for an extra four days. Then 20,000 per car to get rid of them."
"You told them to go shove it up their asses right."
"I would of if he didn't say the next part. He is taking the cars to the cops if we don't pay them."
"They are always greedy. The more you give them the more they want from you. We made a deal, and they're not going to keep their end of it."
"Drew, we have got to get the cars they are registered to the pack."
Who's bright idea was it to use pack cars. They were to be bought under a fake idea."
"I forgot to get the cars, and we were out of time."
"You're an idiot. Alright they want to be greedy let's see how they like the way I am going to pay them. Call them and tell him we'll pay it. Have them bring all four cars to Valley Drive Road. We will meet them there the day after tomorrow at six in the morning,"
"You are going to give them another 90,000 on top of the 50,000 we owe them. Drew, that is way too much."
"I'm not paying them. The end of Valley Drive Road is near the cliffs. It's also in no man's land. All we have to do is kill them, throw them in the cars and push everything off the cliffs. Nobody will know, nobody goes down there."
