Chapter 70
As they reach the gate of the Skyline Pack there are a group of guards there to meet them. "Alpha, there is a much larger number of wolves here. We count ten SUVs with at least four passengers in each."
"Escort them in keep an eye on them. I don't want any of them getting out and wondering the pack."
"Yes, Alpha."
Drew links Eric. "They are here, get outside now."
Anthony puts his arm around Melody, "It will be ok."
Bonnie's head is on Branden's shoulder, as they step out of the car. "I am here for you, Baby, don't worry."
Frank has his arm around Laurie's waist while he has Carley in his other arm. "It will be fine, don't worry."
Drew greets them like there is nothing wrong. Him and Eric are on the landing. "Welcome to all of you. Thank you for coming to our pack."
Anthony stands in front of them. "Thank you for inviting us to dinner, Drew."
"I thought you said twenty was coming with you. I hope we have enough for this large group of wolves."
"There will only be twenty eating with us this evening, the rest are guards."
"I see. There is no reason for this many guards."
"They are needed any time we travel."
Anthony and Melody stand across from Drew and Eric as the rest pass between them into the house. Omegas are there to escort all the guests to the living room.
"Bonnie, it's nice to have you back. Who is this little angel you are holding." Eric reaches his hand out to touch the pup.
"Beta Eric it is nice to be back to visit. Let me introduce you to my mate, Branden. This little angel is Melody's daughter Hailey, and the one in Branden's arms is Wyatt."
Wyatt sees Anthony and starts to kick his little feet reaching for him. "Daddy, get me."
Anthoy scoops him up, "What's wrong, Son?"
"I like you holding me more than Uncle Branden."
Anthony nuzzles him and gives him a little tickle, "You are so silly." He stays with Anthony until the last of the group enters the house.
At the end of the line are six guards that circle the councilman and his wife. "Drew, I would like to introduce you to Councilman Mitchel Donavan and his mate Darla."
"Councilman, I wish I would have known you and your lovely mate were coming. I would have extended you a place to stay for the time you are here."
"It's not needed, we are staying with Anthony and Melody. We have become close over the last year."
Drew reaches out to shake the councilman's hand then goes to Anthony. When he reaches out to Melody, she draws away from him. Drew calmly let's his hand lower to his side and gestured for them to enter. "Dinner is not quite ready yet. We can sit in the living room and talk for a little while."
Melody, standing tall pulling in all her inner strength, speaks to Drew. "I'd prefer not to talk right now. I want to see your father, is that at all possible, Alpha Drew. After his first treatment I will join you at dinner."
"You are the doctor and know what is best." Drew smiled at her, a glimmer of hope shows through.
"Where is he at?"
"Let me take you to him. He will be pleased to see you."
"I don't need you to accompany me, Bonnie and I know the house and the pack well, we can find our way. It would be rude to take you from all your other guests."
