Chapter 60

Two hours after Anthony left, the guards mind linked Melody. "Luna, there is a woman at the gate. She is asking to talk to you."

"Barney, ask her what her name is and why she wants to talk to me? Also, what does she look like?"

"Luna, she said her name is Bonnie, she grew up with you and misses you to pieces. Her words not mine. She is a tiny thing, with dirty blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. Her voice is so sweet."

'My Bonnie, it has to be her. Only she could get a guy that fast. Could she be here to see me? I have to find out.' "Tell her to wait there. Harriet, you have to watch the pups I will be right back."

"Where are you going?"

"Papa Charley, it is Bonnie, she came to see me. She is at the gate right now. I am going there to see her."

"I remember you talking about her."

"The guards said she is at the gate. I want to go down there."

"There is no way you are going down there without me. Give me five minutes so I can set up some extra guards."

Five more guards were at the door waiting to go with them along with the four she already had. "Do we need this many guards? It feels like we are going to war."

"They come or you don't go." She got in the car not saying anything else.

Melody's heart almost stops, 'It's her, the face I have missed so much, she is looking at me with that funny little smile that makes her so cute.' "It's her, Papa Charley."

Papa Charley grabs her arm. "Don't get out of the car until the guards are in place, this could be a trap." Melody was bouncing in the car like a kid on Christmas morning.

When Melody finally got out of the car Bonnie saw her. Bonnie jumped and squealed with joy. "Melody!" She ran to Melody but hit a wall called Papa Charley.

Melody put her hand on his shoulder, "That is my Bonnie, she won't hurt me." The two hugged and cried. "I missed you so much. How did you find me?"

"That idiot Drew sent me here. He thinks I'm going to bring you back to the pack."

Melody released her hug setting her hands on Bonnie's shoulders. The sadness and fear hit her hard. "What did you say?"

Bonnie laughed at her shocked face, "I hope you got pull around here, because I want to stay here with you. I should have gone with you when you ran away. I should never have let you go on your own." Bonnie started to cry even harder and the two hugged tighter.

Melody was relieved she was not helping them. "Let's go to the house, we can talk. The guard will drive your car, you and I have a lot to catch up on."

Papa Charley kept staring at Bonnie in the car, he didn't trust her, not yet. He mind links Melody. "You're being foolish, don't trust her this easily. Take her to the pack house, we should feel her out before you bring her around the pups."

Melody, not liking what he said, agreed to make him more comfortable. "Bonnie, come on we can sit in the living room and talk. Do you want something to drink?"

"I had a soda in the car. Tell me what you have been doing?"

"No, I want to hear about you and what you have been doing. How's your mom and dad?"

"They're in Florida. They moved about six months ago. Here look, I'll show you." Bonnie takes out her phone and thumbs through her pictures until she finds the one she wants. "Here this is the one, look at the two of them, they are having the time of their lives." The picture was of her mom and dad in very loud colorful shirts, sunglasses, shorts and overt sized hats sitting on beach chairs by the ocean. "They love it down there."
