Chapter 21

Alpha Cameron realized she didn't want to talk about her family anymore and helped her change subjects. One of the ones that came to hear her play was Jose. The alpha called him over. "Jose, this is Melody she is starting school in the morning."

"Yes, the principal told me about her."

"Melody, Jose is going to take you around to show you where your classes are. If he doesn't mind, he could show you where the school is, and you can get to know each other."

Jose took one look at Melody and was extremely excited to be the one showing her around. "Come on the school isn't far from here."

While Melody walks off to explore the pack Alpha Cameron takes his brother back to the office. "I need to talk to you, Charley." Charley sits down not sure what his brother wants. "I don't know if you realize how special that girl is. I don't know why the Moon Goddess gifted her to us. Most gifted wolves are showoffs and act like they are special, not her. She is just honest and pure. I believe the Goddess has picked the right man to protect her."

"You don't think I know that. I want her to have a better life here at this pack. What the girl has gone through is...."

Cameron stops him. "Charley, we can't dwell on the past. We will keep her safe. To do that it is best if we keep her under wraps. Even with her being 18 her dad and old mate can stir the waters until she is twenty-one or she gets a second chance mate. Her getting lessons and going to school is important, keeping her out of the limelight is even more important."

"I hear what you're saying, Cameron."

Cameron taps a file on his desk, not sure if he should show Charley it. "I don't want to take a chance of her ever going back there. Not after seeing this and listening to some of her small remarks."

"What does the file say?"

"She had broken ribs, bruised ribs, fractured arms, left and right, along with a broken leg. There are pictures of her bruised body. They have broken six bones in her body and given her three concussions."

Charley is steaming he is so mad, "You're telling me not one individual did anything to help her?"

"The academy sent this to us when they saw we wanted her scholastic reports. There is a note here informing us that she is in need of help and if she chooses to come to our school that she will need a gentle touch."

"They didn't turn this in?"

"He was the beta of his pack. Everything was washed under the rug. The college is so nervous that they would be dragged in this mess, that they refused to give us the name of the pack. I believe their threat of putting her in the dungeon is real. I am afraid of what else they might do." Cameron runs his fingers through his hair, "How she is this kind and caring I don't know. If I could, I would make them all pay for what they have done."

Charley is no longer sitting. "If they come for her, I promise I will kill them." He stares with so much hate in his eyes. "Don't even think of getting in my way, she is never going back to that pack." He then yells out of the room. "Kody, come here." Kody walks in the room. "I need your help."

"What is it?"

"Get me a piano, guitar, violin, and a flute for my Little one. You should find her a teacher too. You know what, we should find her another instrument for her to learn. Cameron, talk to the college and set up some online courses for her. I want her done school as fast as we can."

Kody stands there, you can tell he is figuring out what he has to do. "I can get the instruments in no time. The teacher might take me some time. She needs a good teacher not an everyday one."
