Chapter 83

Anthony went to his office finding two guards outside his door. Even stranger was his father's sent coming from his office when he belonged in his own office. As soon as he opens the door, he confronts his father. "Why the guards and all the cloak and dagger?"

"Last night I saw Michael around the office. I don't know what he was doing here. He was nervous, he kept looking around to see if anyone was there. He damn near ran from the hallway. I don't think he saw me or knows I was around. It might be better to keep that to ourselves."

"We have to see what they wanted, or what he found." Anthony searches his desk then his files. "I found what he got into. This cabinet is always locked. The lock is undone, and the papers are here but not in the right order."

Frank came over to see if he could help after he talked to Charley. "You guys need to be more careful with those assholes here. I am standing in the door, and you didn't even hear me."

"Frank, we got lost in what we were doing. Did you hear what Anthony said?"

"Cameron, you know as well as I do that they were taking pictures of the files."

"They are sneaky bastards, one was telling Melody how they got her a gift for the pup in the afternoon to cover their trail and telling me he wants to be friends as they are stabbing us in the back." Anthony slams the cabinet shut.

"We can redo the patrol schedule and have the safety equipment moved. The problem is, can we do it without them knowing?" Both Kody and Anthony looked over at Cameron realizing he was right.

"How long will it take to redo the equipment?"

"Branden is good with the security stuff. With some help hm and I can get it done in a few hours."

"They talked about taking us all out for dinner to say sorry for the misunderstanding also to say thank you for Alpha Kevin. We could make it a lunch and have them do it at the beach. Over an hour to get there, two hours for lunch and an hour back. If that isn't enough time, we could have Melody want to walk the beach and kill another hour."

"That should be enough time, the thing I don't like is they have been coming and going for the two weeks they have been here. What if they are planning something to steel Melody and use them being here as an alibi."

"Shit, Frank. I never thought of that. I should have had men following them like they did when we were over there."

"Don't kick yourself, Son I didn't think about it either. We both dropped the ball."

"Only reason I think like that is I had to deal with them before. You should of seen some of the shit they pulled when we tried to get Melody when she was little. I am telling you don't put anything past them. Michael is underhanded, he probably taught Eric and Drew to be like that."

"Don't go that far from the pack for Lunch. It is too risky. Branden and I will get to work on it as soon as you leave. Give us a couple of days to get started on it. If we are moving things around, we should wait because we are going to upgrade. I ordered the equipment when you mentioned it, last week, Alpha."

"I agree, the equipment is due in by the end of the week. We can double up the patrols for now and I am going to see if we can rush Kevin's recovery."

"Anthony don't rush it too fast. They need help right now, so they aren't going to try anything until he is better and home safe and sound."

"This is one fucked up mess, Dad. Both of you tell me what you think about them staying at a hotel. They offered to leave the pack last night. I feel better having them where I can watch them, knowing what I know I am going to keep a much closer eye on them."
