Chapter 61
Before Melody went home, she stopped in to see Cameron. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"That is a silly question. What is bothering you?"
"You know that my friend Bonnie came here today. She seems to be the same girl I left behind. She acts the same and it feels right having her around. I want her to join the pack, I truly do."
"But you are not sure if you can trust her." Melody nods yes. "I can't say I blame you, that pack did you wrong."
"It's not that she has said anything wrong or done anything. There is no reason for this feeling, she was my only friend, and she helped me. I think when she said they sent her, it put my senses on alert. I don't know for sure."
"Has she ever let you down before?"
"She always stood beside me, the night I ran she didn't tell them, she even gave me all her savings. Just so I had extra money. Her and her mom kept me alive in a sense. That is why I don't understand this feeling."
"Could the feelings you are having stem from your fear of that pack. You are associating her with them."
"Bonnie was honest and told me they sent her here to talk me into leaving. Then she said all she wants is to stay with me, and follow our dreams."
"Treat her like the friend that she has always been. I will keep an eye on her and so will Charley, if we see anything out of place, we will let you know."
"You're right, unless she makes a mistake, I should treat her like what she is, my best friend. It would be nice if you could come to dinner and meet her."
"I'd love to have dinner at your place, it is better than the pack kitchen. Meeting your friend would be nice too."
Papa Charley yells through the house, "I'm back and brought company." He went and got Bonnie for Melody.
"Come on, Mom. I want you to meet my friend." Laurie and Frank follow Melody into the living room. "I want to introduce you to Bonnie; Bonnie, this is my mother, Laurie and her mate, Frank. You might remember her."
"No, I don't sorry, but it is nice to see you."
"It's nice to see you again, Bonnie. It has been a long-time since I saw you. You were only ten at the time."
Papa Charley started complaining. "I am starving can we eat now?"
"Not yet, Cameron is not here. He will be here soon."
"He is always late," he grumbled as he sat down.
"I am not always late. You just like to complain," Cameron walks straight over to Charley, "You are such a bear when you are hungry."
"Go sit. Mom and I will place the food on the table."
"I don't mind helping." Bonnie went with Melody into the kitchen.
"Frank, will you get Carley for dinner please." Laurie told Bonnie, "You can meet our other little angel."
Bonnie sat between Carmon and Melody. "This is Bonnie, my friend. Bonnie this is Alpha Cameron, my father-in-law."
"Nice to meet you, Bonnie. I have heard so many nice things about you." Bonnie gave him a slight nod but didn't say a word.
"When have you been shy or this quiet. He won't bite" Bonnie being this quiet made Melody uneasy.
"Melody, stop. I am not that talkative."
"Personally, I like talkative people. You know what they are thinking about." Cameron says
"Most Alphas don't like noisy members. I am glad to be here with Melody. Wait and see, I can be a help to the pack."
"That is my Bonnie, you being quiet is freaky." Melody teased.
"You told me about the pups, I can't wait to meet them."
"The nannies are with them. They ate earlier so we could enjoy our meal in peace. When you finish eating, I will bring them down."
Halfway through the meal Bonnie's phone rang. When she saw who it was, she froze. "It's Drew. If I answer this, can he Alpha order me even this far away?"
"If he tries, I will hang up for you."
Bonnie was shaking. "I should answer this call?"
Cameron took her hand, encouraging her. "Answer it."
"Hello," as soon as she answered the phone she put it on speaker.
Drew's dark, angry voice came through the phone. "I heard what you did today!"
"What did I do?"
"You lied to us. You're not planning on coming back, are you?"
"I don't and I never did plan on coming back. From the day I left, all I hoped was to be welcomed where my best friend is. They want me and I am staying."
"Who do you think you are playing with? I'm telling you right now you will come." Cameron closes the phone; she couldn't hear the rest of the order.
"Thank you for that."
"Give me your phone, I will make sure he never calls you again and as soon as Anthony comes back you will officially join this pack, he will never order you again." Bonnie was so relieved she hugged Cameron.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't of done that. Thank you so much for your help. Hold on, how did he know that I told you that? I mean I haven't talked to him until now."
"She's right. No one was around at the gate when she told us that." Melody searched for an answer from Papa Charley who was with her when they picked up Bonnie.
"They are spying on us." Cameron mind linked the guards. "Look around the gate area for signs of a trespasser."
"Don't let this ruin our evening, let's finish dinner." Laurie said, wanting to calm the nerves at the table.
Frank spoke up, "Do you know what your silly sister did today, Mel?"
"This sounds serious; what did she do?"
"She decided to wash her hair all by herself. Instead of using the shampoo she used a dye by mistake, show them. Take off your hat."
"Are you kidding, Dad. It stays on until we go to the beauty parlor, and they fix it." Frank waited until she wasn't looking then pulls off her hat showing her orange hair.
"Dad, how could you do this?" She grabbed her hat back and pulled it on. This changed the mood at the table.
Bonnie helped clear the table and did the dishes. "I was going to have the nannies bring the pups down, if you're not too tired and still want to see them."
"I can't wait to see them. It is still hard to believe you have pups."
The twins ran down the stairs with Melody and the nannies carrying the triplets right behind them. "Meet my little pack. Wyatt, Hailey come over and meet your Aunt Bonnie."
"Hi guys you both are so big. If mama says it's alright, I will take you out for ice cream and a present. We can go to a toy store and pick out whatever you want." That got two sets of little arms wrapped around her.
"Meet the girls, this one here is Phoebe. She was our surprise gift."
Bonnie furrowed her brows. "Surprise?"
"They said it was twins, it turned out to be triplets. This is Hope, she is named after Papa Charley's Mate. This little angel is Sarah, she is named after Anthony's mom."
