Chapter 88

"Melody, I think I am leaving Branden."

"Why?"

"He tricked me and got me pregnant on purpose."

"How did he do that? I can't believe he did that."

"Well, he did, he put holes in the condoms!"

"Oh, Bonnie, that was terrible. Does he know you know?"

"Yeah, I told him that I saw the holes and that he was a liar, and I never wanted to see him again." Tears ran down her face. "I am not ready for this, and I told him to wait for a year or two."

"You can come stay with me. I will give him a piece of my mind. He shouldn't of done that to you."

"I love him even though he was an asshole. He wanted to be like everyone else and have pups. I got that but it is not him having it. Has Anthony ever pissed you off this bad?"

"Of course he has, he is a man. And they are always doing or trying stupid shit. I told Anthony that we had to wait six more months to get pregnant. He took advantage of a weak moment and here we are."

"You're not mad at him? How do you get past being angry?"

"I couldn't get mad because I lost myself in the heat of the moment, so he didn't technically trick me. Talk to him, it is the only way to work things out. The bond is going to make this hard on you. Do you miss him yet?"

"It's been five days since I tossed him out of our room. We are supposed to move into our house this week." Bonnie starts crying harder. "I can't stop crying. Why am I crying when he is the one who tricked me? I should be yelling and screaming at him."

"The big question is can you forgive him even though he was wrong?"

"I have, I think. Maybe I can let him sleep on the couch instead of sleeping in one of the empty rooms in the pack house." She let him home for one night on the couch and he was back in her bed.

This street has become Melody's dream come true. Her family circled her in. Bonnie is two houses down, her mom next door, now that they live in the new house. Amanda is across the street. Even Anthony's dad and Christine moved over to the same street.

"Melody, can Carley stay with your nannies for a little while today? I have to go help at the orphanage later this morning, I should be done around two."

"You seem to like working there. That new addition we built has come in useful. I hate that I only get there two afternoons a week and half a day on Saturday. It makes me feel better you are there to fill in for me."

"It makes me feel a part of the pack, like I am needed."

"You are always needed, Mom. I definitely need you; you are my right hand. This Luna wouldn't make it without you."

"That is nice to hear even if it isn't true. I am actually bringing three of the pups home with me tonight."

"Is this a new policy I don't know about?"

"I am not telling everyone, but Frank and I have a big house and time, so we are talking about adopting a small family of three that needs a home."

"Mom, wow. I would love to meet them. Why don't you come over with them and we can have dinner together?"

"I was a little nervous you would get upset I wanted to help some other pups."

"Don't be silly. I am happy you are helping, there are a lot of pups that need homes. What does Carley think?"

"I have brought her with me to the orphanage and they have spent time together. She has asked us to bring them home to play from time to time. I am not sure she understands them moving in yet."
