Chapter 75

Once in the room Melody took charge. "Bonnie, will you get his shot ready. Drew, this has tired your father out can you lay him in his bed please."

"This cancer has made him so weak. He has gotten very light and fragile. Do you really think that you can save him?" Drew even with his sick obsession did care about his father.

"I promise to do my best. We have been very blessed with a high cure rate."

Bonnie came in with the shot and saw his pitcher was empty. "I will get him some water I will be right back."

Drew watched the two women fussing over his father. "Thank you for taking care of him. I know we are not on the best of terms. This means so much to me."

"This is my job. I have always wanted to be a doctor. Leaving your pack allowed me to become what I am. In some ways I should be thanking you for rejecting me. It brought me here and to a life I never thought I could have."

"After hearing your music, I would think that music is what you would of wanted to do."

"Don't get me wrong I love music, but music doesn't help wolves. Watching wolves getting out of bed after being that sick is quite thrilling."

"I can see how much it means to you. Your eyes light up so bright when you talk about helping others." Bonnie came in catching Drew's attention and stopping him from continuing.

Bonnie makes a face not liking how close Drew was to Melody. "Anthony has refreshments set up for the guests on the back porch at the pack house. He wants us to join them."

Drew accompanied Melody and Bonnie. "Do you always have guards with you."

"She is our pack's Luna. We cherish her and protect her." Bonnie's short attitude, irked Drew.

"Hi, Baby." Anthony stood up from the table greeting Melody. He gave Drew a dirty look watching him walking behind her looking at her ass. Melody gave him a kiss and a hug. "Bonnie, Branden will be here in a few minutes, he is on an errand."

Drew, had a cocky appearance. He know what he was doing pissed off Anthony. Melody and Bonnie never sat down. "Sorry gentlemen, us ladies are leaving, have a nice visit." Amanda and Laurie got up to join her.

"I will see you later, are you going to practice?" Anthony asks Melody.

"We changed our minds and wanted to spend some time with the pups. Mom got them some water toys and we are going to set dinner up out back and let them get wet."

"I would love to join you, but I don't think our guests would like that."

"I would love to join you. When you had dinner at the house with the pups, they were such angels." Drew stood up along with Eric.

"I would really like to spend time with my niece and nephew. I have missed so much time with them. I don't want to miss anymore." To look at Eric he seems sincere.

Melody glares at Anthony for opening his big mouth. "I will send for you to join us when we have things organized."

Anthony mouths 'Sorry.' Then hugs her tight. Melody gets a flirtatious grin as she wraps her arms around his neck and whispers. "You owe me one for this."

Anthony smirks as he pulls her closer. "Promise."

"I have a surprise for you if you are a good boy I will show you later." Anthony growls at Melody's teasing.

Drew is holding back his anger watching them flirt in front of him. His wolf is about to burst out. Michael puts his hand on his shoulder to take his eyes off them. "This is not the time." He says in a very low voice.

Melody turned to Drew before she left. "It is a shame you didn't bring Sasha. Her and I got along, and it would have been nice for you to have her company while you were here."

"She didn't want to leave the pack while I was gone, she is very loyal to them."

"I love my pack, but I would hate to be away from my mate for any length of time."

"She may come and visit us while we are here."

Anthony wasn't sure what he meant and wanted answers. "Are you staying for your father's hospital stay or leaving and coming back to check on him?"

"I don't want to leave him at a strange pack and be all the way across the country. The three of us and two of the guards are staying to keep him company."

"I see."

"Is there a problem with us staying until my father is done his treatment?"

"Not at all, I was wondering how your pack can operate with you being gone that long. That's all."

"I will be in contact with them, and I have faith in my Gamma and Delta to keep me informed of any situations that may arise."

"You guys talk together we will see you soon." This time it was Laurie that wanted to leave and fast.

Later that afternoon Cameron came over with their unwanted guests. The tables were filled with food and drinks along with different deserts. The older pups had water guns. "Carley, hide over here when Alpha Anthony comes close, we are going to get him wet." Melody was hiding behind one of the bushes. Amanda had the boys hiding behind another bush waiting for Kody.

"Melody, where are you?"

"Shhh, wait, he is getting closer. Now!" Carley jumped out shotting him with water. The two boys followed, getting Kody wet. Both men shocked started chasing the pups. The giggles and laughter could be heard all the way in the house.

The pups were having a ball playing with all of the men. Amanda came over to were Bonnie and the other ladies were. "They seem to be intense; the way they keep staring at everything. That one hasn't taken his eyes off of you, Bonnie. This feels strange, you could say creepy."

"This is only the first day and I'm already uneasy."
Bonnie wrapped her arms around herself. "If Eric keeps staring at me Branden is going to lose his shit."

"We are all uneasy with the way things are. As long as we stick together, we will be fine." Melody says trying hard to act tough.

Laurie comes out of the house with a bowl of fruit. "Your guests haven't eaten much and are sitting there like robots staring. How long are they going to be here?"

"I hate to tell you this. They are staying until Kevin is ready to go home."

"Great." Laurie gives the fruit to Melody. "You go out there and deal with them."

The men are playing with the older pups, running around kicking a ball. One of the balls hit Hope, making her cry. Melody walks over to rub her little face and give her a kiss. "Mama's pup is ok. Go run with Harriet."

Laurie stands next to Melody. "It's hard to believe they are a year old. I get the biggest kick out of them taking a step or two and landing on their butts."

"Time is flying bye." Melody is watching as Papa Charley leaves the older pups to help Phoebe who fell. "They don't stay little long do they."

"Nope before you know it you will be a grandmother like me."

"Well Grandmom, what do you think about having one more pup around?"

Laurie stops watching the pups and turns to Melody. "Are you?"

"I promised Anthony when the triplets turned a year old we can think about trying for a boy."

Laurie squeals, "That's great."

Anthony walks over to Melody, "You told her, didn't you?"

"I know you wanted to wait, but it's Mom. You can tell the rest of them."
