The next morning everyone is loading up to leave. The same happy group, this time Cameron brought Christine and Victoria with him. They had never been to one of Melody's concerts before. "Are you sure there is enough room for me and Victoria?"

"There is plenty of room for you and we would miss you if you stayed behind." Melody was climbing on the bus as she talked to Christine.

Once the door closed Anthony and Kody stood waving at their family. Kody sighed, "Finally peace and quiet."

Anthony patted his shoulder. "No more crying, no wives nagging, peace and quiet."

"I thought you wanted pups and they made your world better."

The two men saw the fear on Branden's face, they winked to each other. Branden was in for a teasing again. Kody started. "I love being a father, but everybody needs a break sometimes. Male bonding is also nice, like when we beat your ass at cards."

"Can you picture crying for ten hours a day. None stop. Then the diapers and man do they stink." Anthony is watching Branden turn green. "The first three months give it up, you will not sleep at all, between feeding and burping them. As soon as one is done than the other starts. Your mate gets so worn out, she starts blaming you for having them and wants to castrate you. As for sex, it is a thing of the past. Her beautiful smell becomes pup vomit or formula. They fall asleep with piss on their clothes, they get so tired. You do the same if you are a good father." By now Branden's eyes are getting so big.

Kody elbows Anthony. "Yep, it isn't easy at all. Take any break you can to get the hell away from it."

"Wait how would you know, Kody, these are your first pups. "

"Did you forget Branden, I was there both times Melody had pups, and I am telling you it was hell, and they had help."

"What have I done? Why didn't you tell me this beforehand. I wouldn't of had any and gotten in a fight with Bonnie."

This time Anthony takes pity on him. "Because the first time they smile at you or hold your finger, not wanting to let go, your heart melts. Then one day they call you daddy and that's it you are done for. The pride and love you feel, you couldn't ask for anything better."

"That sounds great. I can't wait."

Kody and Anthony pat him on the back, "They are waiting on us let's get moving."

Four cars and one minibus have gotten thirty minutes down the road when Anthony gets a distress call. "Alpha, Alpha, we're in trouble! Rogues! I can't count how many of them there are. They are hitting and running the borders."

"We're on our way back as fast as we can!" Anthony mind links the drivers, "Pull the cars over we have to go back, the pack is under attack." He jumps out of the car and runs to the bus. "I have to go back. The pack is under attack. Keep going we will catch up as soon as we can. There are three guards with you." He gives her a quick peck and runs to his car.

"Be safe, Anthony. I love you." They watch the men take off. "We should go back and help them."

"You're pregnant. What are you going to do? They know you are safer here, that lets them fight harder."

"Mom, he can get hurt and I won't be there."

"Melody, you are more likely to get hurt or your pups. Anthony wanted you to keep going, he knows what he is doing."

With a nod the driver starts the bus moving back down the road. Ten more minutes down the road the men Drew hired start the plan to steal Melody and the rest. "Make sure we block the road so the bus can't fit passed us. The tracker says it will be here in five minutes. I don't want to screw this job up."
