Guess which character this chapter is dedicated to!

"I think that you are the one for me.. 'cause it gets so hard to breath.. when you're looking at me.."

***

Ethan had never felt so calm in his entire life.

That sentence would be true, if his heart wasn't skipping and stumbling over itself with every ticking second.

He wasn't used to being looked at by a girl like that. He wasn't used to anyone looking at him with interest, period.

She looked amused, which was more strange since she was Drew.

If you had told him a month prior, that he would be feeling these things for her of all people, he would've punched you in the face, and spat curses at you for disrespecting him to that extent.

This is ridiculous.

And it really was. He had a school boy crush on a girl he hated for most of his life.

It's like the Fates just loved torturing him with uneasy situations.

"You invite me to sit with you then you ignore me?" She asked.

"What do you want me to do?" He asked, looking straight ahead.

"A greeting would be nice."

"Hi Drew. Happy?" He muttered.

"Who pissed in your coffee," she rolled her eyes.

Percy just silently stared at the two before clearing his throat. "Well, it's great that you joined us," he said.

"Too bad asshole here can't even look me in the eye," she said lightheartedly.

Ethan didn't even make a move to turn, he just stared ahead, hoping to everything good and holy that breakfast could be finished quickly.

It wasn't like he hated their proximity. It drove him insane. That was the problem.

Especially in front of the others' prying eyes, Ethan become more and more self-conscious about things he would normally overlook.

Like the way her leg was brushing his slightly, or the way he was breathing. He tried to stay as calm as possible, not wanting to set off any alarms in anyone's head. He was fine. She was there, but he was fine.

He just silently ate until he looked down and realized that he was the first to finish his food.

He silently cursed himself. He had nothing to keep himself busy, nothing to use as an excuse to turn away.

Percy wasn't eating all that much either, trying to figure out what's going on.

There was a tense silence that enveloped them. Despite the students nearby talking loudly, the group's silence only seemed louder.
