"Time together isn't ever quite enough

"Time together isn't ever quite enough. When you and I are alone, I've never felt so at home. What will it take to make or break this hint of love? Only time.. only time."

***

The days blended together, and Jason had barely made any progress. It was like Piper was avoiding him.

He tried his best to get closer to her, and there were many situations where they were alone together, but in every one of them, she was aloof. It was like she didn't even know Jason at all - like he was a stranger to her.

And maybe that was what he'd become after all those months of detachment.

Maybe he was just a stranger to her.

She had changed so much, and it hurt Jason to know that he knew nothing about her anymore.

"Hey," he said, standing outside her cabin.

She blinked at him, stunned. And stunning, Jason thought.

"Jason? What're you doing here?" She said, and he immediately noticed how off her voice sounded.

Honestly, he didn't really know what he was doing there either. He just wanted to see her.

"Just.. walking by," he said, trying to sound casual. She was wearing her pyjamas, and seemed to grow self conscious about that as she saw him staring at her.

She shifted awkwardly, walking back into the cabin and grabbing her hoodie.

It was midday by then, and Piper wasn't feeling too well, so she decided to stay in.
Once news broke out that she was kind of sick, all the Aphrodite kids ran out of there, afraid to get whatever disease she had had.

He stood at the door before gathering his courage to walk in. She sat on her bed, one which looked so out of place compared to all the other beds. It wasn't pink, or even remotely girly, but it was cozy, and looked perfect for Piper, go figure.

She stayed silent, looking anywhere but at him. The guy she had crushed on for so long was standing in front of her, but she couldn't bare getting close to him again.

Sure, she enjoyed their time as friends more than anything, but if getting close means falling in love again, she would have to stay away.

Jason just admired her beauty, her makeup was still there, but it was considerably lighter now. She had spent days trying to get it off, and this was the best she could do.

"You okay?" He asked, noticing how pale she looked.

She nodded, looking at the wall.

He pursed his lips, walking closer. Her breathing quickened slightly, but she didn't let her nervousness show. Being the daughter of an actor gives you loads of acting tips you never asked for.
