"Being friends is something lovers just can't do."

***

Matthew and Ethan took it upon themselves to make sure Percy's life was so filled up that he couldn't possibly have time to dwell on the past.

His schedule was already quite packed, with Quidditch practice, NEWT exams preparation for the 7th year, the increased homework, and everything is just made worse with his dyslexia.

The two boys would aid Percy in every single subject, Matthew more than Ethan, since he didn't have dyslexia.

Matthew knew that Annabeth had left huge shoes to fill as Percy's tutor, but he made it work, pushing him a lot, and by the end of the year, professor Slughorn had invited Percy and Matthew over for some get together.

Rachel, Matthew, Percy and Ethan bumped into Bobby and Luna on their way there.

They walked together, joking around.

"I don't think you understand," Bobby said. "Dad's really, really bad at cooking."

"Can't be worse than mine," Rachel said. "I don't think the guy knows how to operate a microwave."

Percy opened the door and was surprised to be met with.

"Ice cream?"

"Mr Jackson, yes, join us."

"Percy's fine," he said, grabbing a seat.

"So tell me," the professor continued. "What does your parents do, Miss Granger?"

"They're dentists," she said.

"Is this job.. dangerous?"

"Uhh, no," she said. "Though, my dad did get bitten by a boy once."

"Ouch," Percy muttered, easing the awkward situation.

"Fascinating," the professor said. "Tell me, what does Fredrick do? He was quite the troublesome back in the day. Ahh, Miss Weasley, take a seat." Ginny sat down next to Ethan, looking oddly sad.

"He was?" Matthew asked, surprised.

"Oh, yes," he said. "He seemed all serious, but I knew the real him, loved to party, that one."

Annabeth seemed stunned by the information as well.

"I'm so sorry about Natalie's passing," he said. "Wonderful woman, she was."

That bewildered the Chases even more.

"Auntie Nat isn't dead," Bobby said.

"She's not?" He asked, "I could've sworn I got a letter about a year ago. Maybe I read wrong." He paused and looking at the Chases expectantly.

"Uhh, to answer your question, dad works as a history teacher," Annabeth said.

"Does he?" He asked, "I always thought Randolph was more interested in history."
