"Everything keeps us apart."
***
Percy walked towards the train station with Ethan, bumping into Drew on the way.
He had explained the entire situation to him the night they left to go home.
He knew that being distant from his mom and Paul wasn't gonna help him but he felt too ashamed to talk to them.
I'm being weak.
The three walked towards the train, where they met Harry.
"Hey, Perce, Ethan, Drew," Harry said. "The others are in the 5th compartment."
"Uhh," Percy said. "Yeah, okay."
After he walked away, Ethan whispered to Percy, "Are you really gonna sit there?"
"What else am I supposed to do?" He asked back. "I know it's gonna be awkward and they're gonna ask why we aren't sitting together and that'll probably put us on the spot- okay, maybe we shouldn't sit there."
"Exactly,"
Percy wasn't sad. No, he was fine.. at least on the outside.
He was mess on the inside, but he didn't want to worry the others.
He couldn't let them see it.
All the compartments leading up to the 5th were full, which meant the three had to pass by the compartment with Annabeth.
They did, trying to look as casual as possible, but Percy's eyes momentarily locked with hers, like magnets, endlessly attracted to one another.
Matthew saw the interaction from inside the compartment. Though he had suspected something to be up, he wasn't entirely sure until that moment.
"Where's he going?" Ron asked no one in particular.
"Uhh," Matthew said. "I'll go get him."
"Yeah, me too," Bobby said.
Though Matthew didn't know if it was the best idea to let his brother come with him, he knew that denying him would be too odd.
"Okay,"
The two walked towards the 7th compartment, seeing Percy and Ethan.
"Do you know what's wrong with Annabeth?" Was the first thing Bobby asked.
Percy and Matthew exchanged glances.
"We broke up," Percy said.
"I'm sorry, what?!" Bobby yelled. "Why the hell would you do that?!"
"She broke up with me,"
"What?!" Matthew said, shocked. "Why?"
He shrugged halfheartedly.
