DOING IT EARLY LOL

Kevin woke up to see Todrick looking at something he was holding, although Kevin was laying half on top of him.
Kevin smiled and reached up to set his hand flat on Todrick's chest. "Mornin'."
Todrick looked over quickly. "Hey babe. How'd you sleep?"
"Pretty well, thank you. How long have you been awake?"
"Alex came in a few minutes ago, so.. Not too long."
Kevin sat up a little. "Is he okay? Why didn't you wake me up?"
"I didn't want to disturb you. He's fine, I promise. Had a nightmare is all. Jake took care of him, but Alex wanted to give me this, so he wouldn't have to see it anymore." He held up Travis' wedding ring, so Kevin could see what he was talking about.
Kevin frowned at it. "He's been holding onto it this whole time?"
"Yeah... But I guess this means he's finally moving on. Not thinking about it anymore. Maybe that's why he had the nightmare. Because he realized that he's starting to forget about Travis." Todrick tried, but there was an undertone of sadness in his voice.
Kevin reached up to tilt Todrick's head towards him. "Hey... I know you miss him too. He was your leader. You did everything you could to help him whenever he needed it. I know how I feel about Avi, so I know how you must've felt about Travis. And I'm sorry he was torn from you like that."
"No, it's... It's not that I miss him. It just.. I got used to him, y'know? And nothing against Jake, but they're two different people obviously. And... Jake doesn't... Gosh, I don't know. I feel so rude for feeling this way."
"You're not being rude. You can tell me anything, T."
"He just... Jake doesn't make Alex smile the way Travis used to. And maybe I just haven't given him enough time. Obviously Jake doesn't know Alex the way Travis did. They're not Marked, bonded, or married... But still. I just.. I just want to see him happy again. I'd give anything."
Kevin took a deep breath, and turned over to lay on his back, before pulling Todrick under his arm and kissing his forehead. "Listen... I understand where you're coming from. I do. But you're right. Jake just doesn't have the same amount of time that Travis had. Better that he don't rush Alex into something, right? It's better this way. Just give him some time."
Todrick nodded, melting into Kevin's embrace. "Okay."
"Are you alright, baby?"
"Yeah. I think I really am. Thank you."
***********
Kirstie and Avi were the ones that made breakfast this time, because Avi had taken a phone call early in the morning.
Kirstie was excitedly setting the table, as well as making coffee, tea and hot chocolate for those she knew would want them.
Avi had done the majority of the food, and already fed Jake and Alex, who had come out of their room first.
Scott walked down the stairs a few minutes after the others, including Kirstie, had begun eating.
He walked into the kitchen and froze when he saw Avi still cooking something.
Avi knew he was there, and turned to face him, his smile falling when he saw all the bruises and scratches that he had caused.
Avi just stared at him for a minute, before turning back to his food. "Come here, Rookie."
