After nearly three hours of just seeing houses, and meeting realtor after realtor... Finally, Kevin and Avi decided on a house.

Kirstie agreed that she loved it, and all Todrick was worried about was Alex. But he knew Alex would love it because it had stairs, and he'd be able to run up and down as many times as he want.

Or until Avi got annoyed anyway.

That's what Todrick was currently doing, until he hit the bottom of the stairs, and Kevin grabbed him around the waist. "Toddy, stop. You're making me tired just watching you."

Todrick laughed and grabbed one of his hands, before walking over to where Avi was speaking to the realtor. "I'm sorry. That was immature of me to do."

"No, it's okay. I just don't want you to get hurt or something."

Todrick nodded and looked around. "Where'd Kirstie go?"

"Probably looking at bedrooms. I'll go find her. Stay here with Avi?"

Todrick nodded and smiled, taking a step forward to see if Avi needed any help with the forms he was signing.

Kevin walked back over to the staircase, and went passed it to walk down a long hallway.

He peeked his head in the first bedroom, the second, then the bathroom at the end of the hall, and finally the bedroom on the other side of the hall.

That's where he found Kirstie, staring out a window with a hand on her stomach.

Kevin smiled and walked up behind her, making as much noise as possible so he wouldn't scare her or sneak up on her. He set one hand on her back. "Hey, Kit. What are you doing?"

She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I just.. I wonder sometimes. How on Earth did I get so lucky...?"

Kevin rubbed her back, not wanting to see her cry. "I don't know if it's just luck... You deserve someone who treats you as well as Avi does. You deserve a happy life, with a happy family. You've earned this, Kirstin."

She nodded and looked down at her stomach. "But..."

Kevin put his arm over her shoulder and looked down at her in concern. "But, what? You don't agree?"

Kirstie's tears began to fall, and she shook her head. "It's all my fault..." She whimpered, barely audible.

"What is your fault? What are you talking about?"

"The test.. It was all my fault. Don't tell anyone I told you, please... Please don't tell."

"I won't. I promise, honey... Are you talking about the 'parent eligibility' test?"

Kirstie nodded, wiping her tears, and leaning into Kevin's embrace. "Alpha told you guys that we both failed it... But we didn't. He passed, but I didn't.. It was all my fault. I didn't know enough about childcare... And that means it's my fault we have to move, and it's my fault Alpha's sister has to take care of our child, and it's my fault that Alpha doesn't get to--"

Kevin interrupted her. "Stop that. Don't blame yourself. There is a reason Avi told us you both failed. He didn't want you to beat yourself up about it. You can take the test again after the child is born."

Kirstie shook her head and looked down, before moving over and giving Kevin a very careful hug.

Kevin hugged back as gently as he could. "Oh, honey. I know how you feel. Failure is hard for everyone. But just because you failed once, doesn't mean you won't pass later. Are you worried that you're a bad Omega? Is that it?"
