Scott walked back into the living room, and sighed when he couldn't find Mitch.

He calmly walked upstairs, knowing Mitch was snooping in their room.

But what he didn't expect, was to walk in on Mitch talking on the phone.

Scott tilted his head a little, but didn't say anything.

Mitch spoke into the phone, his back to Scott. "No, I know that, Sir. I'm asking about a baby."

Scott hurried to get to him, grabbing his upper arm and pulled him back. "Mitchell..." He warned.

Mitch hung up the phone and tossed it over to their bed. "I'm sorry. I'm... I'm really sorry."

Scott glanced at their bed. "Who were you talking to?"

"Um... No one."

Scott closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his grip on Mitch's arm tightening. "Mitch... I have had it with your attitude today. I haven't reprimanded you at all, but I should've. So just fucking talk to me."

"It was... Um. Your dad..."

Scott's eyes opened immediately. "What?! Why?!"

"To ask about your child!" Mitch shouted back.

Scott's eyes began to darken, and he took a step back. "I don't have a child."

"Scott Richard Grassi-Hoying, don't you dare lie to me. This is very, very important. Do you have any idea how worthless it makes me feel to know you're keeping secrets from me? After I have given you absolutely everything?"

Though Mitch's connotation was accusing, Scott could immediately recognize the pain in his voice, and this realization calmed the Alpha inside of him.

Like throwing an entire bucket of water on a single flame, as the blue engulfed the red.

Scott's eyes immediately went into their calm color. "Mitchie, I'm not keeping secrets from you. You've never asked..."

"But you didn't tell me. It's not like you've ever asked me about getting raped for an entire year but--"

"Mitch, don't." Scott snapped. "Please don't."

"Let's not play this game then. Tell me what you're hiding from me, and we can stop this argument right now."

"Mitchie, you know I love you with my entire heart. But please... Let me just keep this one thing. Just for a little while longer." Scott begged, his expression sad.

"That's not fair. If I were in your place, you'd force me to tell you."

"Only because it's my job, and I fucking love you! I just need to make sure you're safe, Mitch."

"Why can't I make sure you're safe, then? Am I not allowed to worry about you because I'm an Omega?"

"Don't pull that card. Mitch, you know I don't discriminate. I'm not that Alpha."

Mitch threw his hands up briefly, and then took a step closer to him. "This is a stupid argument. I just want you to tell me what you're hiding! Did someone die? Do you have some secret younger sibling? Did you have a child with someone? Did that child die?"

Scott took a step away from him and shook his head. "No, Mitch. Stop."

Mitch grabbed Scott's biceps. "Just tell me!"

"No, Mitch! I said no!" Scott yelled, but then he covered his mouth with both hands. "I'm sorry, baby, I didn't mean to shout."

"I don't care. I just want to know who your secret lover is."
