(A/N)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAYYYYYY (Aren't I technically a mother, as Mama Alpha? ;))

So DOUBLE FOR THE HOLIDAY??????

**********

When Alex and Todrick finally came back, Avi had already paid and helped the others pack up their extra food.

Alex immediately walked over to Jake's side, giving him a smile although his eyes were teary. "Hi." He rasped.

Jake frowned at him, his heart feeling a weight on it at the presence of Alex's miserable aura. "Hi, baby. Are you okay?"

He nodded, reaching down to grab Jake's hand as they followed the others outside.

"Allie, can I ask..? I mean.. I've looked over your files several times, to be sure I wouldn't hurt you somehow. And... I've never seen anything about you having a seafood allergy."

Todrick glanced back at him. "It's not in his files."

"How is that possible?"

"Alex never told Travis about it, and his other Pack never put it in his records, so no one knew except for Alex and myself."

Kevin cleared his throat. "If I may... Why didn't you tell Travis, Tod? If Alex wasn't going to do it, it was your responsibility."

"Alex always said he didn't want Travis to know that there was something deficient about him. And I felt like... If he didn't want Travis to know, it's not really my place to tell him behind Alex's back. I just watched his food intake, and it was never a problem."

Kirstie frowned, wanting to understand, she stopped walking and turned around to face the Betas. "Deficient?"

Kevin smiled at her and tossed out a synonymous sentence. "He didn't want Travis to know there was anything wrong with him."

Kirstie still didn't understand, and this time looked to Alex, who had stopped walking as well. "Wrong? That doesn't make sense. Mitchie doesn't eat gluten, but that doesn't mean he has a problem."

Alex spoke to her quietly, energy drained out of him, as he leaned on Jake. "I just didn't want to be a problem. Didn't want to make a big deal out of it."

Todrick sighed, showing that he had already had this conversation before. "Alexander, you didn't have to make a big deal. You just had to tell him. What if you'd eaten something when I wasn't around? What if you had an allergic reaction, and Travis didn't know what to do?"

"I-I guess I hadn't thought that far ahead."

Todrick frowned at him. "I'm just trying to look out for you, Al."

Avi was standing beside the car, the key in his hand, when he spoke in their general direction. "No, please. Take your time. It's not like we're trying to beat Alex's sickness in hopes of getting home before he throws up again."

Kirstie rushed over, having heard him loud and clear.

Scott and Mitch took their time, Mitch swinging their intertwined hands as they walked.

Kevin and Todrick were the next into the car, Kevin driving and Todrick in the passenger seat.

Avi and Kirstie sat in the back, Avi asking Mitch to sit on the other side of him so he could talk to him about what happened with Scott.

That left Scott to sit in the middle of Jake and Alex, as Alex asked him to switch with him so he could sit by the window, and Jake not thinking of it until after Scott had already moved.
