Thank you to the lovely human that made this; it is giving me breathing problems

Scott, though he'd pretended to be asleep for almost an entire hour to ensure Mitch wouldn't hear him leave, finally stood from the bed as carefully as possible.
He snuck out of his room, and down stairs, grabbing a pair of shoes on his way. Then he grabbed the car keys from the small table beside the door, and left, making a phone call as he descended the porch steps in the dark of night.
Avi woke up after hearing the front door close, his senses always on overdrive.
Kirstie woke up too, and frowned. "What's wrong? Why are you awake? Is Grace okay?"
"Kit, be quiet for one second." He whispered to her, as politely as he could.
She obeyed immediately, and didn't move at all either.
Avi hummed, and then shrugged. "Nevermind. Sorry, I thought I heard something."
"Should you check just in case?"
Avi took a deep breath. "Probably."
"What's wrong?"
"I'm just... Really tired."
Kirstie frowned, because she knew. She had noticed earlier how much Avi's overall scent had changed, as he'd become more worried and preoccupied.
Kirstie felt bad immediately, and moved to lay on her back, to gently pull Avi into her side so she could run her fingers through his hair. "I'm sorry, Alpha."
Avi relaxed into her touch, and closed his eyes. "It's okay. That's why we're going camping."
"That's right, Alpha. Kevin took care of everything, so you don't have to do a single thing. You can relax the whole time."
Avi hummed lowly, as he drifted back off to sleep. "Okay."
**********
He was awoken again, almost two hours later, when he heard the same noise.
Kirstie had peeked up at him. "Alpha..."
"Go back to sleep, Kit. I think my imagination is having it out with me right now."
She smiled a little, and then turned over to fall back asleep.
Avi finally motivated himself enough to stand up, and sneak out of his room. After closing the door, he bumped into Scott, who was standing with one of the biggest smiles Avi had ever seen.
Avi gave him a once over before whispering to him. "Where the fuck are you going?"
Scott shook his head, grabbed Avi's wrist, and pulled him down the hall into the living room.
"Scott, it is four in the morning."
Scott turned around finally, and shoved a piece of paper into Avi's hands.
Avi glanced down at it, seeing Scott excitedly bouncing on the balls of his feet out of his peripheral, and raised an eyebrow without really reading it. "Scott, I don't think you need to brag about your score anymore. I get it. You got a 270. I got a 249. Does it make you feel better if I say it?"
Scott shook his head. "Look at the paper, Avi. Look again."
Avi squinted at him, but looked down, scanning the paper all the way to the bottom to see Scott's score. "What is that?"
