When I woke, I got dressed and looked around the room one last time. Hopefully I would come back here someday. I mean, not this room specifically, but back to Huddersfield. We got a cab to the airport and as we were getting our things from the trunk, something, or rather someone, was waving their arms and trying to get my attention.
Finally I gave in. "I'll be right back," I said and went over to them. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to apologize," Ash said.
"Don't you live like, hours away?"
He shrugged, "I'm going over to Squid's after this anyway."
"Did you guys..." I searched for the right words and decided on, "make up?"
"Yeah, he called me last night and told me everything."
I tensed at that. "Everything?"
He nodded, "Everything. But anyways, I'm really sorry for how I acted. I didn't realize that he was breaking up with her; that he was so serious about you."
"I didn't either until last night."
He chuckled, "Well, I'm happy for you two." He seemed sincere, but this attitude was so much different than I'd seen all week that I couldn't be sure. He probably thought it was really weird for us to be together, but he was trying to put that aside for his friend.
I smiled, "Thank you."
"Can you forgive me?"
I looked him over and he really did seem like he was sorry. I decided it would be best to believe him so I said good-heartedly, "Well, you've come all this way, I guess I have to." He smirked and stuck out his hand, but I ignored it and gave him a hug. He stiffened in surprise, but then relaxed and hugged me back. I pulled away, "Thank you for telling me."
He smiled, "Don't mention it. You should get going, though. Don't want to miss your flight."
I nodded, "Bye Ash."
"See ya."
He walked off so I went to go inside, but right as I opened the door I heard someone yell, "Angel!" I turned and was immediately lifted off the ground and spun around.
I laughed, "What are yo-" but was interrupted by his lips on mine. I pushed him away, my eyes darting around nervously. "David, we're in public."
His gaze held a longing that made it look like he hadn't seen me in years. "I missed you," he whispered.
"You just saw me, what, nine hours ago?"
He sighed, "It felt like forever."
I shook my head, "What are you doing here?"
He brushed my bangs aside, "I had to see you one last time."
I rolled my eyes, "I see you're the clingy type."
"I'm sorry, it's just..." he took my hand and placed a kiss on my knuckles, "I like you so much and I don't want to lose you."
"I won't see anyone else if you won't. Which shouldn't be too much of a problem since no one likes me anyway."
"I do."
"Yeah, there's probably something wrong with you." He gave me a teasing glare and I shrugged.
"I have something for you," he said, pulling out some pieces of paper from his pocket. "I stayed up for ages making them."
I took the pages from him and carefully unfolded them. I gasped, "Oh, David. They're amazing!" He had drawn everything that happened last night- the dancing, the kissing, even the arguing.
