When I woke up, David was still sound asleep, snoring softly into my hair. I didn't want to wake him, so I carefully pulled my phone out of my pocket and scrolled through Facebook. I reposted some fanart from my last video and chuckled at a funny comment someone had left, before my eyes landed on something I'd nearly forgotten about. One of the pictures from the MOA. Squelsie... I suddenly remembered that he didn't know about this. I had to tell him that everyone knew, but how? Is he going to hate me? Did I do the wrong thing? Oh no, how am I going to do this?
His hold on my waist suddenly tightened and I heard him whimper. "No, Angel," he mumbled and I glanced at him over my shoulder. He was frowning and his eyebrows were creased as if he were upset about something. "Don't go," he whispered. "Please... stay..."
I shut off my phone and turned over so I could face him. I stroked his cheek and murmured, "Sshhh, it's okay, I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."
His expression relaxed a bit, but I was still worried. What was he talking about? I would never leave him, he knows that. I kissed the tip of his nose and gently rubbed his arm, trying to ease him awake. Eventually his eyes peeked open and he gave me a sleepy smile. "Hi there," he said quietly. His lips grazed mine and I kissed him for a moment before pulling away.
"What were you dreaming about?" I asked.
"Why do you want to know?"
I shrugged timidly, "You were talking in your sleep."
"Was I?" I nodded and he frowned in concentration, "Hmm... I don't remember. What was I saying?"
I bit my lip since I wasn't sure if I should pry, but my curiosity got the best of me. "You said that you didn't want me to go."
He thought for a minute and then something seemed to click. "Oh..."
"You remember?"
He looked away, "No... I don't."
"Are you afraid that I'd leave you?" I asked hesitantly. He stayed quiet and wouldn't meet my gaze. I furrowed my eyebrows and brushed my fingers against his temple, "David, I'd never leave you. Why would you think something like that?"
He glanced back at me with unfocused eyes, "Hmm? I'm sorry, did you say something?"
I frowned, "You didn't hear me?"
"I'm sorry love," he said and kissed my cheek. "I was just thinking."
"About what?"
He shook his head, "It doesn't matter."
"Well it must if you tuned me out for it."
He waved it off, "Really, it was nothing. What were you saying?"
I studied his face and could tell there was something bothering him, but I didn't know what it could be. I opened my mouth to speak, but someone behind me said, "Dinner's ready you two."
Wow, great timing Dad.
David glanced over the top of my head, "We'll be right there."
I heard him chuckle, "Just look at this, it sure is a sight to behold."
I rolled my eyes, "Dad."
"Who would've thought?" he mused, apparently deciding to ignore me. "My daughter, in love at such a young age."
I groaned, "Dad."
"Just think, pretty soon there'll be little ones running around an-"
"Dad!" I yelled, turning over to glare at him. However, I'd forgotten that I was on the edge of the couch and rolled right onto the floor, landing on my face. "Ow," I muttered into the carpet.
