Bang! Bang! Bang! "Angel! Get up!"

"Uuuggghhh..." I pulled the pillow over my head, muffling the noises coming from outside my door.

BANG BANG BANG! "Come on lazy bones! It's the Fourth of July! This is exciting!"

"Go away," I muttered into my mattress, not caring that they obviously couldn't have heard me.

Something suddenly pounced on me and I screamed, thrashing about until the body fell off of me. I threw my pillow at them, glaring as they just laughed their butt off on the other side of my bed.

"Cameron! I swear to god I will murder you one day!"

He held up his hands in defense, still laughing like a hyena. "I'm sorry, I had to!"

"No, you didn't! Now get out of my room before I literally kick you out!"

"Alright, alright, I'm going." He crawled over me to get down and said, "I didn't want to stay in this tainted bed any longer anyway."

I smacked him with the pillow again, unable to keep from laughing at that. "Fuck off! As if your bed is any more pure!"

He gasped, "Such foul language to come out of an angel's mouth!"

"Well, fun fact: angels turn into devils if you wake them up."

He chuckled, "I noticed. And you're right, my bed is definitely worse."

"I don't think Meg will be very happy to hear that," I teased.

He smirked and said with a shrug, "What can I say? She's an animal."

He disappeared from the doorway and I called after him, "I'm telling her you said that!"

"Good!" he called back and I just shook my head, smiling.

Cam had decided to stay at my place for the past few days, one so I wouldn't feel so alone without David around, but mostly because his dad was out of town for the week for a big construction job in the cities. I knew his dad felt bad for having to be away for the holiday, but Cam didn't seem to mind. I mean he got to spend half the week messing with his best friend and the other half with his girlfriend, so I didn't blame him. He was going over to Megan's house tonight after my dad's party so they could celebrate together and then staying with her until his dad came back.

I was happy for them, for how much they'd managed to build their relationship in two short years. Their true love was obvious to everyone and I knew how much they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. I'd even caught Cam looking at rings a few days ago, though he'd insisted he was just looking for an early birthday present for her. I'd just smiled and decided not to mention that her birthday had been last month.

I hopped out of bed and went into the bathroom where all my patriotic gear was laid out and waiting for me. I always went pretty crazy when it came to the Fourth of July and this year was no exception. Once I was dressed and had sprayed my hair red white and blue, I walked out to the kitchen and smiled seeing my dad talking to Cam over a cup of OJ.

I stepped behind my dad's chair and leaned down to peck his cheek. "Happy birthday!"

He smiled, "Thank you, sweetheart. I've got bacon cooking on the grill, it should be done soon."

I grinned, "Perfect!"

"Did you call David yet?" he teased, taking a sip of his drink.

I rolled my eyes, "No. Someone woke me up early." I cast a glare at Cam and he tilted his glass towards me with a smirk. "He's not expecting me for at least another hour."
