Adriana:
💞few days later💞
After leaving Shawn that day at the cabin, I felt worse with every day passing.
I'm sick."Adriana? Are you okay?" Keegan asked as he walked in to my room. He's concer because I have to go to school but I'm not up yet. "Is dad staying home today?" "Yes. Why?" I rolled over on to my back so that I can see him. "Can you please tell him that I'm staying home too. I feel like crap." My voice faded away at the end.
He just nodded, walking over to me and kissing my forehead before leaving again. He changed.
He cares now, unlike the previous years where he just didn't give a damn about me.It wasn't long after when my dad also walked through my door. I'm still mad at him for the way he treated Shawn, that's exactly why I asked Keegan to tell him instead of me telling him myself.
"Darling are you okay? What's up?" "I'm just not feeling good dad. I'm okay." I kept it short, not making eye contact with him whatsoever. He sighed hard as he sat down at the edge of my bed.
"Adriana I know you're mad at me. And I'm not happy about the way I treated that boy. Only now I see how happy he makes you. I guess, well, at that time I didn't think anything but I'm just afraid that you'll get hurt again. I don't want to see you go through what you went through again." I rolled over and sat up, looking at him. He's seriously sorry for what he did.
"Dad. Even though I get hurt again, I promise you it won't be like that. A broken heart is something I'm used to and if it happens again it'll just be like dajavu. But he makes me happy, so so so happy. And I haven't felt this way in so long." He smiled faintly at me.
"As long as you guys are happy... so am I." He pulled me in to a hug. "Thanks dad." I whispered, kissing his cheek before he left.I reached out for my phone to text Shawn that I won't be going to school but just as I picked it up he called me. "You're not at school. Where are you? Are you okay?" He overwhelmed me with questions and I chuckled, but it only broke out in to a fit of coughing. "Adriana? Are you sick?" He asked again and with my cracked up voice I tried to say yes.
"Fuck school. I'm coming to you."
"No no no Shawn you-" but he hung up.I was to weak to fight anyways, but still. He can't just skip school because I'm not there. "Ugh." I groaned as I fell back down on my bed.
He's unbelievable, but what can I say... I love him.
No matter what.-
"Hello Sir. I uhm.. I don't mean to bother but Adriana is sick and I-"
"It's okay son. Come in." I heard the door closing and I slowly fluttered my eyes open and sat up so that I can hear what's going on."I want to apologize for treating you the way I did Shawn. It was not right to kick you out and tell you to stay away when I can see how happy you make my daughter. Please accept my apology."
"That's okay Sir. I'm the one that should be apologizing for crossing the lines. I didn't mean to cause any trouble." There was some silence, or my dad was whispering something to him.
I just want him to come upstairs and lie down with me."She's in her room."
"Thank you sir."I heard his footsteps running up to my room. He skipped some of the stairs, you could hear it. I counted his steps. "Adriana, are you asleep?" He whispered after openig my door. "I'm sat up in the bed, so no I'm not asleep." I chuckled, "Took you long enough to get here Mendes." He smiled big as he walked up to me, taking off his shoes and getting in under the covers with me.
He was in his grey sweatpants and a white shirt. Clearly he went home before coming here.
"What's wrong?" I shook my head, shrugging my shoulders because I don't know why I'm sick all of a sudden. He brushed a strand of hair behind my ear as he scooted closer, wrapping me up in his arms. "Get some sleep." He kissed my forehead, closing his eyes as well and we both drifted off to sleep.
Although he should be in school, I'm happy he's here.
He came to me when I needed him.
I love him.
