Part 82: i missed you

Shawn:

I knew I wanted to give her a bit of a scare, but I should've known that she'd take it up more seriously considering she doesn't want to lose me.
But I had to.

I may have changed but doing a little bad won't hurt too much.

"It feels so good to hold you again, to kiss you and hear your voice. I love you so much Adriana, and I'm so sorry that I played that trick on you." I laughed. She kissed me again. "I'm just happy you're okay. God only knows what I would've done if you were to leave me." I held her in my arms again as she lied down beside me.
Here eyes still puffy and red from all the crying.

It pains me to see what this did to her but I know she'll be okay from now on, and I'll make sure she is. There was a long moment of silence where we just looked at each other, taking in every second that we lost and now regained.

"My mum told me how you never left. That you were here every day, not leaving my side." She smiled faintly up at me.
"If it weren't for you Adriana, I wouldn't be alive."
"Don't say that. You know that's not true. You would've woken up in time Shawn because you have things to do here." She smiled up at me.

"Okay, but if this all happened whilst I didn't knew you, I hope that when I woke up my purpose was to find you." I felt her lips pressing to mine again, deepening the kiss with every passing second.
So passionately and caring, full of love.

God I missed this, I missed her and overall...
I missed living.

"You still have this." I played with the small 'S' around her neck, remembering back to the day of the party that I gave her the necklace.
Wait.
Party?

"Adriana?" She looked up at me. "Yeah, that's my name." She sat up, probably thinking that I'm forgetting her again. "What happened to us? Why did we broke apart, did I do something?" I felt sad, seeing sadness awakening in her eyes by me mentioning the breaking up part.
"You don't remember what happened?" I shook my head.

"That's good, because it's all in the past. But know that I love you, and I always will. Don't ever do this to me again okay, I cannot lose you." As she nestled in to my embrace once again, my parents and sister came walking in. "I love you so fucking much." I whispered to her, giving her one more tender kiss before we all joined in on a conversation.

For some reason it feels like I never left, but I knew a lot of things happened in the time, and Adriana and I weren't on a good place when this happened.
Or we were, but not... together?
I don't know, but at least she's here and never left.

💞 Adriana:

He really got me there with the whole act about not knowing or remembering who I am. And now that's okay, but at the time I felt like falling apart.
And I did enough of that over the past few months without him.

"When is he able to go home?"
"Well for someone who woke up from a serious accident and feels the way he feels now is really rare. So I'd say that by tonight... you can take him home."
I overheard the doctors talking to Karen and Manny outside. By now Shawn and I had switched positions. He was now the one lying down on me.

My fingers brushing through his hair after he once again drifted off to sleep.
"Did you hear that? You can go home tonight." He hummed in response as he held me tighter. "As long as you're there." He mumbled.
I kissed the top of his head before I saw him closing his eyes once again and slept. I'm so happy he woke up, and he's back.
My love.

His parents walked in a while later, smiling at me as they saw him at peace again, sleeping and doing that with a smile.
"Adriana, I think if we take him home tonight we'll take him over to our place. I just feel like he needs to stay with us for a while. Just to make sure he's fully okay." I nodded with a smile.

"That's Okay Mrs Mendes. I'll visit occasionally." I whispered back to her as I continued to brush my fingers through his hair. "Visit? No, he won't be happy with that!" My eyebrows furrowed together.
"Just stay with him." She smiled as she looked at me and then down at Shawn.

"Thank you." I mouthed to her.
