Adriana:

I cannot believe it.
I just met my Nan.
If it's real or not, there were so many signs pointing back to my childhood. I'm on cloud nine right now, and I don't know how to react, what to say or even what to think.
I just want to be in the present moment with Shawn, but it's so impossible right now. "

Hey, earth to Adriana." He laughed, taking my hand in his as we drove on to his parents house. "I'm sorry I'm just-" I chuckled, "I don't even know what just happened." He smiled over to me, "I'm happy for you. I know it's not your mum, but it's family. And maybe through her you'll find your real mother." I leaned over, kissing his cheek.
"Thank you for always being there for me." "Always baby." He kissed the top of my hand, intertwining our fingers.

We still had quite the drive to his parents house, so we tried getting the silence to pass by listening some music and making jokes.
"And here we are." I smiled over to him, nervously. "It looks cute. And it's also the first time I'm here so I'm nervous."
"Oh common! You know my parents and sister loves you!" He got out of the car, walking over to my side and opening the door for me before taking my hand in his and we walked to the back.

"Family!" Aaliyah yelled as she stood up to greet us. "I'm happy you guys are here." Karen said giving the both of us a kiss. I truly feel like I'm part of the family, and that this is where I belong.
With these people.

I tried to force my mind to forget about the event that just happened, or just simply push it aside so that I can focus on the now. There was a big bonfire outside, snacks and drinks all on the table and the house started filling up with guests, friends and family.
"This is a bit overwhelming." Shawn took my hand in his, making me turn to him. "Just breathe. It'll all be fine." He pecked my forehead and we approached the people.

"Shawn?"
"Shawn!"
"Oh my gosh, Shawn!"
Everyone exclaimed with excitement as they practically ran up to him to greet him. He has no idea how big of a mark he left in these people's hearts.
They missed him, but he had to get away... one way or another.

I'm just glad that I could help him cause now I can see how much it means to other people that I, in a way, got him back on the right path. I don't even know how I did it, we just bonded on a deeper level than regular strangers do. But it was good, to find someone with the same insight on life and the world as I had.
But at the same time, I'm so happy that we got to help each other out in the times that nobody else ever understood what exactly went on or how to help us.

I'll never talk about my past again, because now it really just is 'the past'. It did bother me, till I talked about it to Shawn.
Now I placed it behind me and literally all I can focus on is my future with Shawn.
"I missed you guys."
"We missed you! Gosh, where've you been boy!" Shawn smiled as he turned back to me, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me in to his side. "I've been away as you realised, but in that time I found a soulmate to help me. So I'm now doing better than ever."

The entire family smiled as he told them about us. Funny how everyone wants to or demands to know the story behind us. It may be big, and amazing but just like everyone else... it's just a story.
What matters is the now and how we are okay, now.

"Hi." I heard the soft voice of a girl, and as I turned around I saw one of Shawn's friends. She's beautiful, mind blowing even. "Hey."
"I'm Lauren, it's nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too, I'm Adriana." We shook hands, a surreal chuckle leaving both of our lips.

I have a feeling she's a good friend... maybe this'll be good.
