You were cuddling with your boyfriend. Both of you laying on his bed, enjoying the rare silence in the lair. He held you close, played with your hair and kissed you from time to time but overall you were just relaxing.
"I love the way you smell", he said.
He then proceeded to kiss your neck which made you giggle a bit. You tried to get away from him but he just wouldn't let go.
"Stop it babe", you laughed.
Pushing his face away from your neck, you started to kiss him passionately.
"I will never get tired of you", he whispered after you broke apart.
"That's good babe", you answered and kissed his forehead.
Then you laid your head onto his plastron, him gently rubbing your back. From time to time he would play with your hair again. Both of you loved each others company. You didn't even need to talk, as long as you were next to each other everything was fine.
"I wish I wasn't such a giant, mutant turtle", he then said.
You lifted yourself up onto one elbow and looked at him.
"What are you talking about? Don't tell me it's the "I want to be "normal" thing" again?"
That topic has come up countless of times. He was just pointing out the obvious, a turtle dating a human. You had no problem with it and neither did he but you knew if you'd ever walk out in public people would stare.
"Don't worry about what people think. They're just looking for a reason to -", you started and were quickly cut of by your boyfriend.
"No that's not what I meant. I mean it kinda is but ... I just wish we could go somewhere. Just you and me. Leave all of this behind."
"You want to run away with me?"
"Yes. If we could, I'd do it right now. Pack our bags and just leave."
"What about your brothers?"
"I'm sure they can take care of themselves. Maybe it wouldn't be forever but a few months with just you would be perfect", he said and kissed your forehead.
"Where would we go then?"
Of course you had thought about going on a vacation with him, heck even leaving New York. But that always involved his brothers as well. You loved all of them like they were your own brothers but that he wanted to leave without them was new.
"Where ever you want to, princess"
"To the beach?"
"Sure"
"Mountains?"
"Could be a bit cold but I'm"
You raised an eyebrow. He was actually serious about this.
"Could you imagine that? Just you and me, sleeping in, having a large breakfast and do whatever we want. Cuddling, kissing", he said and started to kiss your neck.
"Oh I would love that", you whispered, unable to speak cause he was working on your sweet spot.
You shot up and left him where he was.
"I might have an idea", you said and left the room.
You came back with an electric heater and your boyfriend gave you a weird look.
"What are you doing?", he wanted to know.
"You'll see", you said and proceeded to set everything up.
You placed the heater in a corner, the furthest away from the bed.
"Imagine this being a light summer breeze", you told him and he started to relax.
Then you took your phone and searched for a white noise video. Waves on a beach of course.
"Now, this feels like a vacation, doesn't it", you asked and kissed him gently.
"You're absolutely amazing", he said, "let's enjoy this as long as we can."
He placed his head on your chest and pulled you close. You were gently stroking his head and noticed how he was slowly drifting off to sleep.
