"Baby?", you asked when you walked into his bedroom.
It was weird that Donnie wasn't in his lab but you didn't think too much of it. Maybe he finally took a break?! You looked around and Donnie was nowhere to be found. Of course, he was still at the lab. How could you possible think he'd take a ...
"Oh hey love", he suddenly said behind you.
"Donnie!", you exclaimed while turning around and running towards him to give him a big hug.
"I missed you", he gave back.
"I missed you too."
You both shared a kiss, you on your tiptoes, and then looked at each other.
"So what is it?", you asked.
You got the call half an hour ago. Him being excited about something, urging you to come over. To his bedroom, and not the lab. It it would have been the lab you could have guess it was a new discord but the bedroom? No idea!
"I got you something", he said and smiled nervously.
"A gift? For me?", you cooed.
He nodded and handed it to you. It was rather small and flat and you were surprised. Normally, at that was only twice, you got something made by him. A new toaster and an upgrade to your laptop.
"What is it?", you wanted to know and lifted it up in the light just to see whether you could tell what it was.
"Well you have to open it dove", he smiled.
You gave him a big smile as well and then ripped open the paper.
"I ... I hope you like it. If not, don't worry. You can .. I don't know place it somewhere where you don't see it."
Donnie was so nervous. He rubbed the back of his neck, pushed his glasses back up and his palms were sweaty.
"Of course I'm gonna like it Donnie, it's from you!", you said.
You finally had it open and could see what it was: a picture frame with one of your first ever selfies with Donnie in it. Both of you were still shy, not even dating yet, and blushing like crazy.
"Figured it would show the beginning of our love", he said.
You looked up to him with a few tears in your eyes.
"Oh no, you don't like it", he gasped.
"What are you talking about? I love it babe", you gave back and laughed
"But ... but you were crying..."
"Tears of joy silly", you said and kissed him passionately.
"Oh good. Isn't it too cheesy?"
"Maybe, but that won't keep me from putting it on my bedside table. Thank you so much", you said.
"I love you (Y/N)."
"I love you too Donnie. To Neptune and back."
That made him giggle and he pulled you in for another kiss.
