"They're taking hostages", Donnie said while typing on his computer.
"Give us the exact coordinates", Leo replied.
The foot have been at it again. We've been fighting them non-stop but it felt like no matter how many we defeat, twice as many would come back. We've - and other mutants - have been widely accepted. We're not the ones people fear, it's the foot, purple dragons and everyone else that has something to do with Shredder.
"We need a plan", Leo said again.
"I'll tell ya what the plan is: get there, kick their ass and leave again", I said, cracking my knuckles.
"I'm in for that", Mikey said an started to pack up his nun-chucks.
I locked eyes with Leo, waiting for his approval. I'm still not over the fact that he's the leader but I have to live with it. I raised an eyebrow, wanting him to finally give his answer.
"Gear up guys, we're leaving", he then said.
We went straight to the local bank. Apparently someone big had a meeting there and instead of just getting that person, the foot decided to take hostages to prove their point. Leo thought it was a good idea to make our through the venting system.
"Oh we're gonna be like Tom Cruise", Mikey cheered and I smiled.
Even in situations like this, Mikey always found a way to make us smile. Donnie did the maths to see if the vents could actually hold us and when he did, we all found ourselves sitting there, waiting for the perfect timing. We didn't make a single noise. We wanted to hear what the foot has to say. Leo gave us hand signs. 3 ... 2 ... 1.
We jumped down, one after the other and used the moment of surprise to kick some serious butt. Mikey was laughing here and there and I enjoyed it too!
"Stop it or I kill her", someone yelled and all of our heads went towards that voice.
There was one from the foot, holding a girl close to him, a gun next to her head. She looked scared, was on the verge of crying.
"Don't do anything you might regret", Leo said.
"Drop you weapons or ...", he said again and grabbed that girl closer.
She let out a squeak and closed her eyes.
Leo was the first to drop his weapons and we did the same. Holding our arms and hands up, showing we're not armed, gave that guy a release. Little did he know we still had some shuriken hidden. He let go of the girl, pushed her to the floor and held up his gun to shoot us. As soon as he did that, all of us just attacked him.
Donnie started to let some of the hostages go and helped them get out. I on the other hand took care of the girl. She was sitting on the floor, unable to move, still in shock.
"Are you okay?", I asked and moved towards her.
She looked up and slowly nodded.
"I guess", she answered.
The closer I got to her, the weirder I felt. It's like my whole mind went blank and I could only focus on her. There was a strange noise, a heart beat and I'm sure it wasn't mine. I kneeled next to her and she just kept staring at me. She heard it too.
"Wow", was everything she said.
"Definitely", I gave back and smiled a little.
"Are ... are you ... soulmates? What the hell"
You could tell she was trying to figure everything out.
"Oh fuck me, I need to almost be killed in order to find my soulmate", she now laughed.
"Raph, what are you doing? Get her out of here", Leo yelled.
"On it!", I gave back.
I held out my hand to help her get up. Her hand was so soft and small. And when I touched her it just felt right.
"Can you walk?", I asked.
"Of course", she laughed.
I lead her to the door and squeezed her hand. The police and ambulance were there already, making sure that all the hostages were fine.
"Wait here, okay? Hide behind the police where you're save. I'll be back soon"
"Okay", she nodded.
I couldn't believe it. I found my soulmate. And I was able to kick some butt, how much better could this day get? The boys were almost done with fighting and we decided to do a quick sweep of the bank, just to see if we missed something or someone.
After everything was cleared and the foot was with the police, we left. All of us sweating, panting and happy that it was over. We walked out and my eye immediately searched for the girl. Where was she? Oh God I hope she was save. And she was actually still waiting for me. Yeah I'm her soulmate but that doesn't mean she has to be attracted to me. I'm a giant turtle after all.
I scanned the place and there she was. Talking to a doctor, nodding and gesturing. I wasn't sure if I should walk over to her or not but I trusted my guts. I needed to talk to her.
"Hey", I said.
"Hi", she replied and smiled.
"Everything okay?"
"Sure, just a simple check up. Are we done?", she asked the doc.
He nodded and we left the scene.
"So ... uhm ...", I started and rubbed my neck, "I'm Raphael. Raph for short"
"(Y/N)", she replied, "nice to meet you, soulmate"
Both of us smiled and goddammit I blushed. Oh no I hope the boys don't see me.
"Raph?"
Oh for the love of ... what a timing Leo.
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay Miss?", he asked.
Of course he remember who she was, how couldn't he.
"I'm fine, thank you", she gave back.
"Who are you anyway?", Donnie smiled.
"Yes who is this lovely lady?", Mikey chimed in and kissed (Y/N)'s hand.
She giggled and I blushed even more. How cute she was.
"Leo, Donnie, Mikey ... this is (Y/N). My ... well ... soulmate", I admitted.
All of them looked at us in shock and I wrapped my arm around her. To my surprise she leaned in and placed her hand on my plastron.
"So, (Y/N). Welcome to the family I guess", Leo said and hugged her.
"Thank you", she smiled.
"Do you want to come to the lair or have a private date?", Mikey asked and wiggled his eyebrows.
"Shut up Mikey", I hissed.
"I think we need to get to know each other first. Alone", (Y/N) gave back.
"Well then", I said and took her hand.
"See you, guys", she waved goodbye.
I knew exactly the place to take her. To a rooftop. Where you could see the whole city and be by yourself. I couldn't wait to get there. I wanted to talk to her, hold her, meet her. It felt like my life had only just begun and I loved it.
