“Try not to worry about it.” Danny suggested, obviously noticing that I’m glancing at my phone every two seconds.

“They have a show tonight. What if they don’t make up?”

“They always make up. And if they don’t they won’t let that stop them.” I sighed, knowing what Danny was saying is completely true. “Listen, we need some advice on which songs should make the album. Want to help?”

“That would be great! Thanks D.” I smiled.

They obviously hadn’t completely made up. Ryan still looked like crap to be honest, there wasn’t the same atmosphere in the green room either. I took a seat next to Ryan, who instantly pulled me into a hug.

“You okay?” I asked quietly. I got a shrug in reply. “Did you all make up?”

“Not really.” He sighed, running his hand through his hair. “I guess a lot’s changed on this tour.” He added quietly.

“I’m sure it’s not that bad. You’ll have forgotten about this by next week, I’m sure of it.” It is that bad. It is terrible. If they can’t make up, there is no hope for the band.

“Maybe.” He replied, but his voice sounded empty. This whole thing is stressing me out, I felt sick. I felt like crap, I honestly just wanted to go to bed, but I think Ryan needs moral support.

“Just enjoy the show, do what you all love.” I smiled as he went to get ready, Danny came in a few minutes later.

“News?”

“Not good.” I reported. “Not good at all.” Danny sighed, I guess it’s hard for him to see a band they are so close to fall to pieces.

“There’s always hope though.”

“There better be.” I agreed.

The show itself was great, Ryan looked happy which was the main thing. They all interacted as usual, so there was no visible sign of this bump in the road. Ryan and Zach even cracked a few jokes. But when I got backstage it was pretty clear, Ryan had a bottle of beer in his hand and there wasn’t the usual banter. Ryan looked tired. And not in the way he usually does, most the time he’s still pumped with adrenaline, but he just looks tired. Physically and mentally. My head was banging and I felt sick to my stomach. This stress was not helping.

“Let’s go.” I grabbed Ryan’s hand and pulled him out of there, he followed blindly. “You looked like you had fun.” We got into one of the cars that had been sent for us.

“It was nice. You can get lost in the music.” Poor thing, all heart broken. “Anyway, how bout that McDonalds’?” He asked smiling, trying to perk himself up.

“That would be great babe.” I pulled him in for a kiss, one he returned which was a surprise.

“And, I’m expecting a present.” He muttered in my ear.

“If you deserve one.” I teased. He smiled, or attempted to. It’s the thought that counts though.

We got to our hotel room, Ryan seemed happy. I think going out got his mind off things.

“I think you deserve your present after all.” I laughed, going to get it from the pocket of my jacket. “It’s not the best present, but it was last minute and it made me think of you.” I explained as I handed over the little pouch. He pulled out the necklace, it was a chain with a gold cross. Real gold I might add, like 9 carat or something. I don’t know exactly, Danny had bought it after my suggestion. It had Tedder engraved on the back.

“This is great.” He exclaimed pulling me into a hug.

“I know it’s not the best thing, but, it made me think of you. And I didn’t know what to engrave because, the cross means something to you and I didn’t want to fuck that up. So, to play it safe I went with your last name-“ I couldn’t shut up. So Ryan pulled me in for a deep and passionate kiss.

“Babe, I wish I could give you your present right now. But, you have to wait a week. I promise you, you will love it.” He chuckled. 9 days Ryan, 9 not 7!

“I know I will.” I kissed him again, then we went to bed. Straight to bed.
