I was sat in the waiting room of the hospital. The boys wouldn’t let me leave with her when the ambulance came, Danny went instead, I had to finish the show. It was driving me crazy, knowing I wasn’t with her. As soon as the last song was done I was in the car on my way here. Turns out they haven’t finished running the tests anyway. The boys had come too, although I’m not sure why. As far as I know they weren’t speaking, but Danny, Mark and Glen were here. I couldn’t stop thinking of the moment she collapsed, the fear that controlled me. All that mattered in that moment was her, my mind running wild with all the things it could be.

“Mr Tedder?” A nurse asked, I stood up and walked towards her. “Well, she should be fine. She is suffering from severe dehydration, sleep deprivation and stress, she also has an imbalance of vitamins; which may have contributed to her collapsing. She has a drip and other vitamins being pumped in to her body now. She is awake and stable, so you can talk to her. But she will be tired. The Doctor will be along to tell you more and to talk to her soon.” She informed me. I walked into the room, Amy looked a little happier.

“Hey babe.” I kissed her softly.

“Hey gorgeous. I’m sorry.” She started.

“Don’t be sorry. Please. Okay, let’s learn from the mistakes and not ever let it happen again. Ever.” I interrupted. “Everyone is waiting outside.” I informed her quietly, taking the seat closest to the bed and holding her hand.

“Everyone?”

“Yeah. The boys and all.” I sighed. “All that matters is you getting better.” We sat quietly for a little bit.

“Have you told my parents?” She asked suddenly.

“God. I don’t know. I don’t think anyone told them. I’ll go give them a call now, I’ll send Danny in.” I told her, heading out into the corridor. “D, can you sit with her for a bit? Got a few calls to make.”

“Sure thing, man.” He replied, those two get along well. I’m happy that she has someone to turn to when she needs a friend, someone who isn’t as reckless as Adam. The guys looked at me as I walked past, but I chose to ignore them. All the things they said, trying to blame Amy. It broke my heart. It makes me so sad to think this could be the end, but we have never fought like this before. I couldn’t hold in the sigh. I stood outside, I think it was the smoking area, but it was quiet which is all I needed. I called her Mum.

“Ryan?” She answered.

“Yeah, hi. Urm, look this isn’t easy to say, but can I ask what you’re doing first?”

“Sure, we were watching TV.” She sounded nervous, which is to be expected I was building a lot of tension.

“It isn’t serious, but Amy is in the hospital.”

“OMG! Why?” She exclaimed, she sounded pretty close to tears.

“She hasn’t been eating, sleeping or drinking much. Part of me hoped I just didn’t notice when she did, but she collapsed while we were on stage tonight. The nurse said she’ll be fine, the Doctor should be coming round at some point.”
