It was a bit awkward hanging out with the Pillar Men. Wamuu was sitting cross cross apple sauce with you in the circle between his legs. His arms were wrapped tightly around your torso and he nuzzled his head in the crook of your neck as he hummed quietly to himself.
Kars was sitting in his chair appearing rather bored. Every so often you caught him glaring in your direction. You figured he was probably still angry about you making him fall to the bottom of the ravine.
You weren't sure when it would be an appropriate time to ask, but now was better than never, "Say, Kars." Doing this received no response from the Pillar Man.
Wamuu stopped humming and mumbled into your ear, "It's Lord Kars."
You let out a quiet sigh, "Lord Kars."
This time Kars looked straight into your eyes, "What?" His gaze was too intense and you started looking elsewhere in the room. "Look at me when I talk to you, (Y/N)."
You hesitantly maintained eye contact with him. "You wouldn't happen to have the dagger that fell out of my boot, would you?"
"Ah, yes. I do recall taking it with me, it seemed important to you."
Your eyes lit up and you raised your voice in excitement, "Really?!" You quieted down, "Can I... Can I have it back?"
He motioned for you to approach him. Wamuu didn't want to let go of you, but his hold slowly loosened anyways. You carefully approached the Pillar Man. Kars then snapped his fingers and a vampire walked out holding a red cushion with what seemed to be your dagger. Although, there were a few differences. The blade had been sharpened as well as shined and a few jewels had been imbedded into the hilt.
He removed it from the pillow and held it by the blade extending the hilt towards you, "It was a bit dull for my taste." You gave him a questioning look, as if asking if you were actually allowed to take it. "Consider it a peace offering of sorts."
Your hand hovered just above the handle, "Peace offering?"
Kars let out a long sigh, "Yes. I realized..." He adverted his gaze and furrowed his brows. He talked slowly, as if was difficult for him to say what he wanted to, "I realized that it is understandable that you would dislike me after I threatened to kill your companions multiple times." You were shocked, was he actually apologizing to you? "Do not misunderstand, they are still going to die. I just wanted to perhaps... repair our relationship."
You raised an eyebrow at him before taking the dagger and admiring its new details. "Thanks Kar-" His eyes narrowed, "...Lord Kars...I guess."
He let out another long sigh, "Don't thank me, It was Wamuu's idea."
"Oh," Your face seemed to brighten at the mentioning of Wamuu and you turned around to see he was now standing right behind you. You bowed your head slightly, "Thank you, Wamuu."
He removed your hat and patted your head gently, "Think nothing of it. You seem much more comfortable with me than with Lord Kars. I just wanted the two of you to get along better."
You raised your head and looked up at Wamuu. "I see..."
Wamuu then began to drag his fingers through your hair, being careful to not pull on it. He brought you in close for a hug and enjoyed the feeling of your body against his. You awkwardly patted his practically bare back while in his embrace.
Kars glared at the scene from his chair. He was not particularly happy with the affection his fellow Pillar Man was sharing with you. He knew that if he asked, Wamuu would stop without question. He did not doubt his loyalty. He was a bit confused with himself, to be honest. Not sure why he cared so much about you or why he'd unconsciously protect you at times. Not knowing the answer to this frustrated him. It felt wrong to view you as nothing more than a pawn, so he didn't know what you were to him. But there wasn't time to think of such things now. Not when the Red Stone of Aja was so close.
