Wamuu and Joseph moved into the arena while atop their chariots. The crowd of vampires cheered like crazy. They were excited for the battle to come.

Kars addressed the rowdy crowd, "The battle for the Red Stone! It's JoJo versus Wamuu... in a chariot duel! The match begins when the clouds part and the moonlight shines once again!"

He pointed to the full moon in the sky as the clouds moved to cover it. The vampires excitedly wooped and hollered once more. Heck, you were even getting kind of pumped.

Joseph seemed to get angry as the crowd began chanting Wamuu's name. "This crowd won't shut up! Wamuu's clearly got the home-team advantage!" He glanced up to you, "(Y/N), why aren't you cheering for me?"

You took a deep breath for shouting with your hands cupped around your mouth to increase the level of volume, "JoooooJoooooo!"

The crowd went silent and all eyes turned to you, making you feel a bit uncomfortable. Joseph seemed happy though and he gave you a brief thumbs up before the crowd decided to continue with their chanting.

Wamuu was a bit sad that you weren't cheering for him, but he could understand why you wanted Joseph to win. You were more acquainted with the one named JoJo for longer than himself. Of course, that would be changed in time after he won and you joined the side of the Pillar Men.

Your looked carefully around the arena from the raised platform you stood on with Lisa and Kars. You were listening closely to the combatant's conversation.

Wamuu looked over to Joseph, "One lap is nine hundred and sixty meters. These horses can make a lap in one minute. Then there's the pillar. Each lap we take, a weapon will be hanging from it."

"A weapon?" A vampire began scooting itself down the pillar.

"The one who reaches the Pillar first wields the weapon. The weapon for the first lap... is a giant sledgehammer! I look forward to an exemplary fight, JoJo."

You noticed the nervous sweat dripping down Joseph's face. You knew you wanted him to win, for the betterment of humanity and all that, but Wamuu wasn't really that evil. He was certainly the nicest of the Pillar Men. Seeing him die wouldn't make you happy, but it seemed to be necessary.

You were snapped out of your thoughts when a hand moved onto the top of your hat. "It pleases me to know you've kept such good care of my attire." You were a bit startled to hear his voice right next your ear and you quickly moved away from him.

"Ka-" His eyes narrowed as you began saying his name and you slowly change what your response, "Lord... Kars." The corners of his mouth seemed to tilt slightly upwards into a cruel sort of smile. "Why do you seem to be... how should I say this... so interested in me?"

The smile on his face quickly faded as he stared at you, "I have lived a long life, and never have I met a being such as you." He leaned in close to you, "Immortality as well as an ability to control blood, it doesn't make sense for you to not have some sort of draw back. But you don't seem to have a weakness like that. You don't turn to ash or stone in the sun. The only real weakness you have is caring so much for these humans who cannot live forever and will inevitably die. There is no need for you to care about them, and I can't understand why you would." He gave a short sigh as he began to move away from you, "At least with you there, Wamuu will be happier. His loyalty makes him worthy of that."

You stood still and processed the words while staring at Kars as he left his spot next to you and addressed the crowd once more with an arm raised towards the sky, "The clouds are now at the moon's edge. The light will soon shine upon us!"

"JoJo, what are you doing?! It's almost time!" Lisa's alarmed voice managed to shake you out of the trance like state you had been left in. You looked down to see Joseph moving a bunch of rocks and pebbles under Wamuu's wheel. He'd do anything for even a minuscule advantage. You felt kind of bad that Wamuu, a true warrior was fighting a trickster like Joseph.
