Dio began to freak out a bit when your body remained cold and lifeless. You still had the gash in your neck and it didn't look like it would heal anytime soon. He was honestly frightened at the thought that he might have killed you.
He hit his head against the side of the couch. Why had he been so stupid? You could do Hamon in your sleep. If he turned you into a vampire and you accidentally did Hamon while resting you would essentially die. He stopped worrying when your body began to twitch and your eyelids fluttered open.
You felt empty. As though a part of you was missing. The familiar warmth of your Hamon seemed to have vanished. Almost as if the movement of your blood had stopped. You opened your eyes and saw Dio. He looked relieved. You opened your mouth to say something but found that you could not. You brought your hand to your neck and realized the gash he had made was still there. You were surprised when you felt a rubbery texture instead of blood.
"Since you're a newly awakened vampire, you must be hungry. I'll go bring you your first meal. Stay here, I'll be back before you know it."
You tried to decline the offer but you still couldn't speak. You didn't want to eat someone. Then you realized something odd. Even though you had supposedly been turned into a vampire, you had no thirst for blood. You moved your tongue across your teeth. Your canines didn't seem sharper either. You didn't feel alive anymore, but it's not like you felt dead either.
You saw a mirror out of the corner of your eye. You hesitantly stood up. Your legs felt shaky, but you walked over to it anyways. You looked younger. As if whatever he had done set your body back a year or two,You looked at the rather horrid cut in your neck. You brought your hand to it and touched the rubbery stuff and that seemed to be there. You pulled on it and it stretched. Seeing how it looked it the dim lighting, it was as if your blood had become rubber like and stationary within your body. You were horrified. What had Dio done to you? You wanted your blood to flow again.
And to your surprise, it did. With the simple thought the rubbery blood reverted to a liquid state and dripped from your hands and neck. While that happened you could feel the pain from the wound once again and you felt alive once more. When you wanted it to stop the blood seemed to hold its position despite being mid drip. It was almost as if you could control it. You looked up from your now bloodied hands to the mirror. You wanted your voice back and for the gash to be gone. The blood from your hands flowed back into the wound. Once it had all returned, layers of skin began to form. Eventually the wound was gone and not even a scar was left. You brought your now clean hands to the new soft skin on your neck.
"What the heck is going on?" You whispered to yourself. You could now talk and breathe again. You hadn't realized that your oxygen intake had stopped so you supposed it was no longer necessary. You tried to activate your hamon only to find that it no longer seemed to work. It was as if the ability to use it had disappeared.
"Are you trying to kill yourself, dear?" You saw the Dio's form behind you in the mirror. He walked up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist like he had done many times before.
"No, I wasn't."
Dio brought one hand to touch where the wound had been. "I see the cut eventually healed up nicely on its own." He was wrong about that. The cut had healed because you wanted it to, not because of vampiric regenerative abilities. "You must be starving. I only have a few things lying around. Nothing particularly fresh. Your first meal deserves to be special so you'll have to wait until it gets here."
"It doesn't matter. I'm not hungry, Dio."
Dio chuckled, "Is this an attempt of retaining your humanity? Do you feel as though you won't fully become a vampire as long as you never feed? Eventually, your hunger will become too much and you'll go mad. Would you rather go on a killing spree than just drink the blood of one?"
