Your eyes were covered by Silver Chariot's hands as you could hear the soft clink from Polnareff placing a plate on the table. The hands were removed and you could now see the glowing face of the French man who was very excited as he pushed the plate of waffles closer to you. "Surprise! I ordered it myself."
You returned his smile as you picked up the fork he handed to you, "Thank you so much, Jean. I really appreciate it."
He moved a few cans, bottles, and bowls in front of you, "I wasn't sure what you liked to put on them, so I just asked the guy for some of everything."
You could see several jams and syrups along with bowls of fruit and sugary sweets. There was quite a bit more than necessary, "That's very thoughtful of you..."
Jotaro grumbled under his breath as he just stared at his pack of cigarettes, almost glaring at them. "It sounds like a big waste of money to me."
Polnareff pouted, "No, it wasn't." He reached over the table and grabbed your hand. "It made (Y/N) smile and that's reason enough to do anything."
"You're very sweet, Jean. Here, you can have some, too." You cut into the waffles and extended the bite towards the French man who happily nommed down on it. You took a glance at the Kujo's watch, "But, um, don't you think the others should've gotten here by now? Maybe something happened."
Jotaro shook his head, "I'm sure they're fine. The old man's probably just taking his time in the bathroom."
Polnareff rested his elbow on the table as he looked into the distance, "Bathroom, huh... You're probably right about that. Come to think of it, the toilets in the hotel we're staying at were so clean..."
Iggy scampered next to your chair with a pancake in his mouth that one of the customers had given to him. You bent down to pet him, "Well, I suppose if they don't show up soon we can go look for them."
A bunch of people ran past the small restaurant. Polnareff watched in mild interest, "Seems like somethings going on."
You listened in on the conversation of some of the people
"Someone cut the rail line!"
"Will the trains be okay?"
"They've stopped running them for now."
Polnareff took a bite of his own breakfast, "Someone cut the rail line? That's a pretty crappy thing to do. Why would someone do that? Are they stupid?" He let out a sigh and leaned back in his chair, "You know, (Y/N)... I think people like that will get what they deserve."
You took a sip of your water, "That's nice..."
A few minutes later, the French man rested his chin on the table, "As much as I didn't want them to join, they're really taking their time to get here. What the hell are they doing?"
Jotaro checked his watch again, "It's almost nine o'clock. They might have encountered an enemy."
You set your fork down on the now mostly empty plate and stood up, "Well, I suppose we should look for them."
Polnareff pushed in his chair and moved next to you, "Yeah, I guess you're right."
You came across three children playing in a puddle of mud. Despite being worried about the others you decided to watch them for a moment. They had a few buckets and a toy tea set. One of them handed over a blue cup filled with the brown substance, "Here you are, ma'am. You're bourbon whiskey and soda on the rocks. Enjoy."
The second child gratefully accepted her order, "Oh, it looks so good." She then pretended to gulp it down.
The first kid looked at the second snidely, "My, you drank that down so quickly this early in the morning."
