I was watching Lovely talk business with a group of men. I couldn't tell what it was about, but I knew it was serious. Most events she's working, everyone always says, but this is the first time I really get to see it. Business doesn't stop for Lovely. She's the kind of woman I would have kids with and make my wife.
She's in this dope sapphire blue LV dress. I could tell it was custom made cause I've never seen anyone wearing the dress before. It hugged her in all the right places while still not showing too much of her body. Shawty straight makes me wanna cuff her so fast and protect her peace. This type of party is more casual, nothing too exciting. "Hey, stalker!" Nicki said as she stood behind me. I turned around, and she was staring while smirking.
"You really like my baby sister, huh?" She asked curiously, and I nodded while smiling. "What makes you want her?" Nicki asked, and I inhaled. "She's witty as fuck, dope, and a businesswoman. The hood respects her. The woman is everything I need and want in a woman." I said, and she smirked.
"Then I will give you a secret that I've never gave anyone about Lovely. She likes to be pursued, but she also wants to do a little pursuing. You've run her into the ground. Now fall back and let her breathe. The one thing Lovely always says is, if it's meant to be, it will be, and what's for you cannot be taken away." Nicki said, then she took my hand like your granny does when she's about to lay some real wisdom on you.
"Lovely isn't a delicate flower, nor is she the thorns. That woman is the seed; she's the steam, the leaves, and everything that makes up the beautiful flowers you see from a distance." Nicki said, and I looked at her a little confused, then it kind of clicked.
I think what she's telling me is that to love Lovely's beauty. I have to love her imperfections. I have to understand she's strong on her own, and if I come into the picture, I have to show her that I won't put more weight on the world she's already carrying on her back.
Nicki and I were talking when someone tapped my shoulder. "Can you escort me to the dance floor?" The familiar voice asked, and I turned around to make sure it was her. Lovely looked at me with the biggest smile on her face. Then I looked at Nicki, and she gave me a look, like hurry up and say yes.
"Would you like to accompany me in a dance, or should I go ask Megan?" Lovely asked, and I smiled. "No, I wanna dance!" I quickly said, then Lovely and Nicki laughed. Lovely stuck her hand out for mine. Then she walked us to the dance floor.
"I usually lead, but I guess I can let you lead tonight." She said in the sweetest, softest voice, and I chuckled as Lovely positioned our bodies for the dance. We began dancing to the music, and it was going great. Eventually, we dance for three songs, and they finally really slowed it down.
"Just to keep you satisfied." By Marvin Gaye began playing, and Lovely laid her head on my shoulder as we danced so close, I could smell every scent she had on. These scents didn't clash, nor did they collide.
I was in heaven, and to be a hunnid with you, I feel calm and safe when I'm with her. "Uhh, Bash?" Lovely asked in a sweet seductive manner. "Bash." She said again, and I finally realized I wasn't dreaming. "Yes?" I asked, and she slowly pulled away from me but still made sure she didn't go too far and ruin the moment.
"Your friend is a little bit too happy." She said, and I quickly realized she was right. "How about you go fix that, then you give me a ride home," Lovely said, and I nodded happily.
Lovely's P.O.V
In the car
I was in the front seat of Bashar's car, and he was taking me home. "Can I turn this up?" I asked, and he nodded while keeping his eyes on the road. "Damage." By partynextdoor began playing, and I mumbled the lyrics. "This shit take two, is it too soon to get you into my bed?" I said, and I listened as I looked out the window.
Then the volume of the music was turned down. "Uh..." Bashar awkwardly laughed and looked over at me. "I don't wanna make this awkward." He said, looking awkward as hell. "How about we play a question game, and you just slip what you always wanted to ask me in the questions?" I asked, and he nodded while still keeping his eyes on the road.
"Why do you like me?" I asked, and he smiled. "Your actually different from other women, and I'm not just saying that to be some lame-ass nigga." Bashar said, and we both chuckled. "How come you don't like me?" He asked, and I smiled. "It's not that I don't like you; I just don't want some drug dealer boyfriend. I need to get outta the fast lane and into something a little more kid-friendly," I said, and he was quiet for a moment, then he spoke.
"I can respect that, and what are you looking for in the man you hope finds you?" Bashar asked, and I smiled. "Caring, kind, nurturing. He also can handle his business if he needs to. I want a combination of Michael Myers and Mr.Rogers. But I also want a mixture of Marvin from baby boy and Mike Lowrey from bad boys." I said, and Bashar laughed, but I didn't expect him to understand what I meant anyway.
"You want a killer teddy bear pretty much an attack dog?" He asked, and I smiled. "Yeah, pretty much, and wha-" the car stopped, and I looked out the window at my house. "Good Night, Bashar," I said as I kissed his cheek, then I made my way into the house without looking back.
