[One & Only] || Sunwoo

My friend started with this idea and they let me finish it off so I guess this counts as a collab??

Your best friend Sunwoo, who just so happened to also be your crush of 5 years, is very popular in school. Despite his popularity, he never once switched up on you and you are very thankful for that.

Currently you were taking a nap as your class was allowed the rest of the period to do work. You don't know how long you were asleep but you were awoken by none other than Sunwoo.

"Ya, wake up." He said while caressing your head.

As you open your eyes, you see him looking at you with a smile on his face. You roll your eyes as you nudge his hand off your head. You sit up and put on your sweater, grabbing your lunch next to your desk and walking out the classroom. As you head out, you see people start to swarm him. It's always a mix of things: people wanting to play basketball with him after school, people wanting to sit with him at lunch, and those who are confessing their feelings for him. Since this is a regular occurrence, you scoff and head up to your usual spot on the rooftop of the school.

"____, wait for me!" You hear Sunwoo whine, his footsteps speeding up as he tries to catch up with you. You smile to yourself as you can easily picture his face sporting a pout. You stop on the stairwell as you hear him trying to catch his breath.

"Why...do you always...do that?" He said, starting to catch his breath.

"Do what exactly?"

"Leave me before we can walk out together?"

"So you can have time with your fan club." After you answered him, you start walking up the stairs once again. He follows right behind you as you push the door to the rooftop open.

"You know I hate it when you call those people my 'fans'." He said while doing air quotes.

"What else should I call them? Your loyal subjects?"

"That's even worse."

"Sunwoo, when will you realize that you have the entire school wrapped around your finger?"

"It's not the entire-"

"Yes it is." You said, cutting him off. You appreciate that he's very humble but you still needed him to accept the truth.

You two stand in silence for a bit before you sit down and start eating your lunch. He sits down next to you and starts to eat as well.

"Does it bother you?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes but also no." He turned his head to you after hearing your confusing answer.

"How is it both?"

"Well it does because I imagine it might be suffocating for you but it doesn't because I know no one can even come to my level in your books. I mean, unless you get a significant other than maybe that will change." You said, your voice getting quieter as you said the last sentence.

Sunwoo turns his body to face you while you refused to meet his gaze.

"____, look at me." You slowly turn your head to the side to look at him.

"What if I told you that my future significant other could never top you?" You furrowed your eyebrows at his question.

"I mean you're going to make them a priority so why wouldn't they be above me?"

"Because you're the only one I want to keep making a priority." Your eyes widen as you analyzed what he just said.

"Sunwoo..."

"You're right that the entire school is whipped for me but you're the only one I have my eyes on. No one else could even come close to you." He said with a smile.

You turn your body to fully face him.

"You really mean that?"

"Hey, you've known me for so long! You should know if I'm lying or not by now."

"That's true, yeah. It's just...I wasn't expecting you to feel the same way." Now it was his turn to be surprised by your confession.

"You mean to tell me that we could have been dating this whole time?"

You nod your head.

"I mean hey, better late than never."

He leans for a kiss but you stop him. He starts to whine, wandering why you stopped him.

"Aren't you forgetting something?"

He thinks for a moment and then he realizes his mistake.

"_____, will you do the honor of being my significant other?"

"It would be my upmost pleasure." You two smile and go back to the kiss he was trying to give you. As lunch time was coming to an end, the both of you leave the rooftop and walk down the hallways hand in hand. You hear mixed reactions as you two pass by but that doesn't matter to you since you finally got what you've been wanting for a while.
