Hendery was one of the smartest people in your class and he was liked amongst everyone. You were currently enrolled in a Chinese language class and you were currently studying for your final. You decided to go with the creative approach and write a poem in Chinese. Since you were good friends with Hendery, you figured he was the best person to go to since he speaks the language. When you mentioned what you wanted to do, he was more than happy to help.

"I'm so glad you came to me! I have some poems that I can give you."

"Hendery that's amazing but I want to show that I know something about the language."

"Okay but I'll still keep my poems as a backup option."

"Oh but of course."

You spent a lot of time in the library and at each other's houses coming up with many poem ideas and writing them down. Hendery would test you on Chinese words, testing to see if you know your stuff. You looked at all the poems and you didn't feel super confident to hand any of those in for a grade. Suddenly snapping out of a daydream state, you came up with the perfect poem idea. You spent the whole day working on it, asking from your other classmates instead of Hendery since you wanted to surprise him. You had two copies of the poem so you had one to hand in and one to give to Hendery.

It was finally the time to hand in your poem and you were more nervous about Hendery's reaction more so than your grade. After your class ended, you ran to find Hendery and you found him outside in the courtyard. You called out to him and he turned around and smiled at the sight of you. You immediately started to regret everything but you knew it was now or never so you confidently walked up to him.

"You seem confident."

"I am because I know my poem is great."

"Which one did you end up choosing?"

"About that, I wrote the one I handed in after a daydream I had and I'm sure you'll like it."

You handed it to him and watched as he read it. The tips of his ears were starting to turn red as he was finishing up. After reading it over a second, maybe third time, he finally looked up at you. He gave you the biggest hug and you were left speechless. The words you never thought you would hear was finally be said, "I like you too. I always have and I always will."
