You and your best friend, Jisung met when you were learning fencing for the first time. You've always trained together and helped each other practice for the other person's matches. This time, for the first time ever, the two of you were going to have to face each other in a match.

It seemed strange for the both of you since you helped each other train. You both know each other's techniques so you would have to try some new ones. You had a good feeling about the match but you couldn't help but feel nervous about it. You always knew that this day would come but not this soon.

The day finally came and it was definitely awkward for you and Jisung. This was the first time that you barely made eye contact with each other since you met as kids. Although you were going against each other, you still motivated each other before the match and wished each other luck.

After getting in the center of the ring, a wave of confidence washed over you. You were ready to take on your best friend because at the end of the day, you like to win. Plus, you'll get to rub it in his face when you win. You and Jisung shook hands and put on your masks, letting the match begin.

At the current moment, the two of you were tied. Before the final round, you brought up an offer to Jisung.

"Loser buys the winner lunch?" Jisung's eyes widen at the new challenge.

"Sounds fair. I hope you have enough money in your wallet."

"I hope the same for you because you'll be the one paying."

The both of you put your game faces on as you were ready to beat the other person. It was intense but as you predicted, you were the successor! Although Jisung was a bit hurt that he lost, he was still happy for you nonetheless. You gave each other a big hug and you led the way to your favorite lunch spot. You thought about ordering the most expensive thing but you don't want to burn a black hole into Jisung's wallet so you decided to stick with your usual. While you were eating, you felt like returning the favor.

"Jisung, do you want dessert?"

He furrowed his eyebrows in thought before nodding.

"Alright then. Whatever you want, I'll pay."

"But you won?"

"I know. Can't I treat my best friend to dessert?"

"Oh you definitely can."

After you finished lunch, you went to a store nearby for Jisung's dessert treat. You both then sat on a park bench and talked about the days leading up to the match. He expressed how strange it was for him not to practice with you. You told him it was strange for you too. Hopefully the two of you never have to go against each other, but you did promise Jisung that you would let him win next time if it ever happens again.
