You and your significant other were planning on going to Paris but the timing wasn't on your side AT ALL. This would have been your first vacation together and you felt like Paris would have been the perfect place, as it's known as "the city of love." You were definitely feeling the blues and it was very noticeable. Your partner quickly saw how bummed out you were about not being able to go. They then decided to take matters into their own hands.

One rainy morning, you woke up to an empty bed. As you stretched, the door opened and you were met with your partner dressed up in suit and tie.

"Ah, I see you have awoken from your slumber. Breakfast awaits in the dining room."

You blink in confusion as you let out a yawn.

"Uh, babe...what's with..?" You ask while pointing at them, gesturing up and down.

"I don't know this 'babe' you speak of but I will be at your service."

As much as you would love to ask more questions, you just shake your head and decide to play along.

"Alright then, thank you." You said with a smile, still confused by everything going on. You removed the blanket off of your body and let them lead the way to the dining room. When you arrived, you see an array of items.

"Everything you see here are French delicacies."

That's when the light bulb above your head goes up.

"Did you do all this because I was sad about us not being able to go to Paris? Also please drop the character before you answer."

You hear them chuckle and they rolled their eyes playfully.

"Yes, I know you've been looking for to our first trip together. Since I couldn't take you to Paris, I tried my best to bring Paris to you."

You felt your heart skip a beat and you got a little teary eyed as you gave them a big hug.

"You didn't have to do all this, you know?"

"I know but I wanted to do it for you."

You couldn't help but let your tears fall. You pull away from the hug to lightly punch their shoulders.

"You can't have me crying this early in the morning."

They pretend to wince in pain at your punches.

"You can't be punching me this early either."

"At least we're even. Now let's eat before these delicacies get cold."

You two sit at the dining table and enjoy the food that was laid out.

"You know, you could have at least told me to dress fancy. I feel so underdressed right now." You say, referring to your pajama set.

"You still look stunning." They said, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you, but I'm still going to put my fancy outfit after this."

And that you did. When you went to meet them in the living room, they were standing by the record player. After hearing your footsteps, they turn to you and let out a gasp. You smiled at them as you did a twirl.

"So...how do I look?"

"Amazing." They give you a quick kiss and turn to turn on the record player. They look back at you, extending out a hand.

"May I have this dance?"

You take their hand saying, "It would be an honor."

You danced and danced, even after the song finished playing.

"I'm sorry we couldn't go to Paris like you wanted." Your significant other said, breaking the silence.

"I'd take this moment right here over Paris any day of the week."

"Same here, but I'm still taking you one day."

"Can't wait."

You were truly thankful for a partner like them. Sure, you were upset at first but that didn't even matter anymore since you got to have this precious moment with them.
