[Vante Van Gogh] || Taehyung

Your city was known for having street performers and vendors. Each are unique in their own way, some play instruments, and some dance. Regardless, you can't deny about their talent. Tourists travel from far and wide to see this beloved performers.

There was a artist who's art always captivated you. Everyone knew him as Vante, the boy with incredible art skills and a very cute smile. You were looking for new artwork to put in your apartment so you went and looked at his art. He had art already made but if you wanted, he could do a quick portrait of a person of choice.

You found an art piece that really struck your eye. It was a landscape of the city at sunset. The oranges and purples were really beautiful and you needed it in your possession.

"Excuse me, how much is this I'd painting?"

He looks up and his smile grows wide. He then looks at the painting at question and says, "For you, free."

"No, no I'll pay. You have amazing art, Vante."

"Thank you so much." You paid him and he took your money with slight hesitation.

"Let me make sure it's signed and I'll bag it for you."

You nodded and you looked at his other work. They were all marvelous and you wished more people appreciated his art. You turn back your attention back to him and he just finished placing the painting in the bag.

"Thank you so much. This will look amazing in my new apartment."

"No, thank you. If you need anymore art, you know where to find me."

You bid each other goodbye and you went home. As you took the painting out of it's bag, you stared at it in admiration. You turned it around, and you notice a small piece of paper. You remove it and notice he left his phone number. After some thinking and putting the painting up, you took a picture and sent it to him. He immediately responded and you spent the rest of the night talking.

The next morning you went to the new coffee shop that opened. You heard that they have amazing pastries and sweet drinks so you thought what better time than to stop there for breakfast. You were surprised to walk in and find Vante at the counter.

"Oh hey...Taehyung?"

He looked up and saw you looking at his name tag.

"Hey ____ and yeah that's my real name when I'm not the infamous Vante."

"Taehyung suits you just like Vante does."

"Thank you." His cheeks were starting to turn a light pink but quickly regained composure, doing his job.

"What would you like today?"

"What do you recommend? I've heard a lot of good things about the pastries and drinks so I'm not sure."

"Well I can make a mean salted caramel mocha and the double chocolate muffin is to die for."

"Then I'll have those please."

"What size drink?"

"Hmmm, I'll take a medium. How much will it be?"

"Don't worry, I'll pay."

"Taehyung not again."

"Let me do this as a thank you for buying my art."

"You're not going to give up on this, are you?"

"Nope." You sighed and put your wallet as he giggled.

You moved to the side so you can wait for your order. He calls your name and comes from behind the register.

"I'm on break so want to have breakfast with me?"

"I'd love to."

You spent the rest of his break getting to know each other and planning to hang out again later in the week. You were starting to fall in love with how passionate he was about art and his adorable smile.

You went on dates to art museums and hearing him talk about the techniques used in the paintings made you wish you could hear him talk for hours. He talked about how Vincent Van Gogh is his biggest inspiration.

"I want to be the next Van Gogh."

"No, you need to be the first Vante."

"I almost have all the money for art school. I'm so close to getting there."

"And you will get there. I can guarantee you that you'll get there."

"If you say so."

Just like you said, he got the funds and went to art school. You have seen him during his highs and lows and also helped him find motivation for his final portfolio. His class was doing a showcase and everyone had to submit art to be displayed. Usually, Taehyung showed you his art so he can get your feedback but he didn't show you anything this time. He says that you have to wait until the showcase, so you are well assured that it must be worth the wait.

It was finally the day of the showcase and you were more nervous than Tae was. You were amazed by the different art pieces, each of them telling a different story. You both weaved through the crowd, waiting to see Taehyung's artwork. You were looking at one art piece when Taehyung tells you to close your eyes. You do so and he takes your hand, leading you away to a different part of the room. He positioned your body a little bit and then he told you to open your eyes.

Once you opened your eyes, you were speechless. It was a large portrait of you. He painted it with your favorite colors and you were surrounded by your favorite things. This drew a lot of people in,  besides of the size of the painting. You took in every detail of the painting and you started to feel yourself tearing up.

"Why did you paint me?"

"Well, the theme of the showcase was something that gave your life meaning, and that happens to be you."

You pulled him into a hug and you stayed in each other's embrace for a few moments. Afterwards, you looked him in the eyes and said, "Van Gogh would be so proud."
