[Love & Basketball] || Taeil

It was my friend Jay's birthday the other day and she loves Taeil so here's a birthday concept for her!!

You loved basketball more than any other sport and your husband, Taeil knew that better than anyone else. When your son expressed interest in the sport to him, he immediately took him to you.

"____, I think you want to hear this."

"What is it?"

When your son made the confession, you were elated. You ran into your closet and brought out a duffle bag.

"I was hoping this day would come to I came prepared."

You taught him everything you knew about the sport and when it was basketball season, you would watch all the games together as a family. Since you used to coach a basketball team, you knew a lot of stuff. Taeil was the biggest cheerleader during the training process and it was cute seeing your husband cheer on your son when he was practicing his free throws.

When it was the start of the new school year, your son tried out for the basketball team. He got on the team and you were so proud of him that you nearly cried. When he got his gear and uniform, you took several photos of him and he felt so embarrassed, not knowing that it's only the beginning.

It was finally his first game of the season and you and Taeil went all out to support him. You both made signs for him and made sure to cheer him loud as you can. Taeil would have to force you to sit down from time to time because you were ready to get into an argument with the referee when they made a bad call against your son's team.

As the game was drawing to a close, your son scored the infamous buzzer beater and won the game for his team. You and Taeil jumped up from your seats as you watched your son be surrounded by his teammates and coach. He quickly ran up to you two and embraced you both in a big family hug. He let go from the hug and turned to you saying, "I did it!"

Your eyes started to well up with tears and you responded by saying, "You did so well, sweetie."

Taeil said, "Did you hear my cheering?"

Your son chuckled and said, "Of course I did dad. No one can cheer 'let's get it' louder than you."

"That's my trademark phrase, my son. But seriously, we're so proud of you."

"Thank you both so much for supporting me."

"Thank you for being the best you can be." Taeil told your son and they did their handshake.

"Not ruin the moment but I bet my boys are hungry, because I am."

"Let's eat! You choose the place."

Your son's eyes lit up as he thought about where to eat. Once he said his answer, you all were on your way and enjoyed the victorious meal as a family. You couldn't wait to see him play more games and you were glad that he was playing the sport. You watched your son and Taeil play rock, paper, scissors with such fondness, muttering under your breath, "that's my boys."
