Note that the views that Severide spoke about in the last chapter are NOT my views on the subject. As a member of the legal profession (paralegal), I believe in systemic racism both in the justice system and in general. I fully agree with the verdict in the George Floyd case and believe that Derek Chauvin got the right sentence for his crime because that is what he did...he killed George Floyd and murder is a crime. For it to be anything other than that is a disgrace. I would like to mention that I have decided (from this point forward) to try and raise the matter more.
I want to be an ally of the Black Lives Matter movement and assist in whatever way I can. If my story can shine a spotlight on some of the injustices that the Black Community (still) face on a daily basis...I am going to do just that to the best of my ability. If any leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement read my story and believe that my message is off point (and therefore would like me to try and better represent the movement's message)...please send me a private message on Wattpad and I will change how I write it. Together, we can make a change!
