Dream was running through the nether, a handful of bounty hunters hot on his trail, narrowly missing with their crossbows and sword swings. Dream managed to lose them in a crimson forest but it was only a matter of time before they found him again

He slumped down against a tree and started wrapping his wounds when he heard a rustle behind him, he whipped around and grabbed his dagger, ready to fight. He was shocked when the head poking around a tree trunk was surprisingly close to his age, not some middle aged trolls trying to kill you for money

He stared Dream down, stepping out from his hiding spot and standing in front of the human with a worried glance around before grabbing Dream's hand and pulling him up "WOAH! Hey" Dream said as the nether boy dragged him through the blood red forest and stopped at a towering bastion, holding one hand to Dream's mouth and shushing him

They crept through the broken down blackstone fortress silently until the boys reached a little room dug out of the netherrack. The nether boy pushed Dream in and closed the makeshift door behind him, hiding the two just in time as a crowd of, what Dream assumed, piglins ran past

"T-thank you" Dream whispered breathlessly "My name's Dream, what's yours?"

"Ssssapnap" he growled in reply, he pulled the slab of blackstone used as a door back slightly and looked out. It must have been all clear because Sapnap pulled it back all the way "Ssssafe" he called back to Dream and stepped aside, curling his tail back around his legs and making just enough room for the taller to exit, Dream tilted his head slightly "Why are you here? Are you stuck, I can help you out"

Sapnap just stepped out of the room entirely, walking over to the edge of the bastion and sitting down, dangling his legs and he looked down at the lava "Not sssstuck... waiting" he muttered sadly. Dream sat down beside him "Waiting for... who?"

Sapnap seemed to wilt, hunching his shoulders as a single tear, surprisingly it was water, rolled down his scarred cheek "Karl... misssssing"
