Chapter 68

Ayumi's P. O. V:

Raiden and I pull back before we run at each other again, bringing our swords forward. There's another loud clang as our swords meet, sparks flying. We repeat the same movement, pulling back before connecting blades again, and again, and again, our bodies nothing but blurs, our blades quicksilver.

I then hear my teammates retreat to take care of some of the other Murakami clan members, with Sasuke setting some of them on fire with his Amaterasu.

I spin around and aim my sword for Raiden's right side but he deflects it viciously. I swiftly create a second katana as I spin back around but he expertly deflects both swords, emitting a chorus of clangs.

I pull back just enough to slam my hand onto the ground with a grunt. Thorns of diamonds shoot up towards Raiden but I feel him evade them.

I focus hard and feel something come whizzing through the air towards me. I turn as I back flip several paces to get away from Raiden's sword, the blade slicing clean through air.

Tucking my katana under an arm, I clap my hands together as I chant, "Wind Style: Wind Crescent Blade Jutsu!"

I thrust my hands forward and a deadly sharp curved blade of wind zooms through the air at high speeds for the blonde man. He gasps before I hear him use the Substitution Jutsu.

I hear lightning crackling. "Lightning Buriel: Banquet of Lightning!" Raiden calls. I couldn't dodge this Jutsu in time but subtly and swiftly activate the Substitution Jutsu. Just as his Lightning Jutsu hits me.

I scream in agony, hearing most of my teammates cry out my name worriedly. The electricity soon dies down and my body slumps to the floor.

Raiden chuckles as he approaches me. He crouches down beside me and grips my face firmly in his hands, making me face him directly.

"Now, Ayumi, open your eyes," Raiden orders. I don't open my eyes like he wants me to. Instead, my body poofs away and a log takes its place. The blonde man blinks his eyes in surprise as he jerks upright, gazing around for me. "A Substitution! Where did you go, Ayumi?!"

"Right here!" I call as I loom above him with my chakra filled right leg outstretched, causing Raiden to jerk his head up. "Eat this!"

With a grunt of immense exertion, I bring my leg down and towards his head. However, when there's an explosion from my leg making contact, I didn't feel like I hit Raiden at all.

I bring up my katana just in time to block Raiden's when I feel something come whizzing through the air for my head. Raiden and I exchange vicious slashes.

"Hey, is she actually fighting with her eyes closed?!" Suigetsu asks in shock.

"She is," Says Sasuke as I hear him plunge his Chidori into a Murakami. "Ayumi is using a special Jutsu that lets her feel vibrations in the ground."

"Interesting," Suigetsu says before he resumes hacking into the Murakami clan members.

I pull back from Raiden and thrust my arm forward to send a barrage of diamond shards at him. I hear a grunt, meaning at least a couple of them had embedded into him.

I jump back several more paces and tuck my sword under my arm before I make a giant sized diamond needle, as tall as a pillar. I thrust it towards Raiden and create two more. I feel Raiden dodge the first one as he does the second and third.

"Thunder Saber!" I couldn't dodge on time as Raiden's Lightning Jutsu comes down and hits my left shoulder. I scream at the pain before I jump back, sending out diamond spikes to keep Raiden at bay.
