Episode 10: Ashton and King Vs Misty!

The next morning, Ashton woke up, took all the clothes out of the dryer, and got dressed. Once he was dressed, he woke his friends up. "Cmon guys, we gotta get ready for todays battle at the gym!" Ashton said. The other two woke up and started getting ready. They grabbed their clothes out of the dryer and changed out of their pajamas.

Once they were all ready, they walked out of the hotel room and walked down the the lobby. They handed the receptionist the key to the room and walked out of the hotel. "Man, I'm so excited to get my next badge!" Ashton said. "Me too! Pikachus feeling better so it can battle now!" King said. They got to the gym and walked inside.

Misty was swimming in the pool with two other women. "Um, sorry to interrupt, but we're here for a battle!" Ashton said out loud. Misty saw them and swam towards them. "Of course! Please give me one second," Misty said. She turned to the other ladies. "Ok the pool is closed until all Pokémon battles are finished," Misty said to the ladies. The ladies got out of the pool and sat in the spectator seats.

"Now then, which one of you would like to battle me first?" Misty asked. King stepped forward. "I'm feeling really confident so I'll be your first opponent," King said with a grin. King was thinking two things at the moment. "I can't wait to win!" And "she's really pretty".

"Alright then. As for you two, if you want to watch the battle, then go sit over in the stands," Misty said, pointing to where the other ladies were sitting. The other two walked over to the seats. "Ok let's begin! Go Staryu!" Misty said, throwing the Pokeball. "Go Pikachu!" King yelled. Pikachu jumped off of King's head and prepared to battle.

"Staryu, use Rapid Spin!" Misty said, starting the battle. Staryu span really fast and flew at Pikachu. "Pikachu, dodge and use Tail Slam!" King yelled. Pikachu jumped over Staryu and slammed its tail into it. "Good job Pikachu!" King called out. "Staryu, use Water Pulse!" Misty said. Staryu shot the ring shaped water beams out of its jewel and towards Pikachu. Pikachu was hit by the attack. "Pikachu, use Lightning Tackle!" King yelled. Pikachu covered it's body in lightning and dashed towards Staryu.

Staryu tried to dodge, but Pikachu was faster and slammed into it, sending it flying back. Staryu fainted. "That was impressive, but can you beat my Starmie?" Misty asked, throwing her next Pokeball. "You're almost done Pikachu! Hit it with a Thundershock!" King called out. Pikachu covered it's body in lightning and shot a bolt of lightning at Starmie. The lightning bolt hit, but Starmie was still standing. "Your Pikachu is strong, but my Starmie won't go down so easily!" Misty said.

"Ok then, Pikachu use Thunderstorm!" King yelled. Pikachu jumped in the air and raised its hands. It's hands sparked with electricity. Suddenly, bolts of lightning shot really fast as Starmie. "His Pikachu is really Powerful. I'm surprised it couldn't beat my Charmander," Ashton said to Justin. "I was wondering how he beat Brock even though Lightning types are weak to Ground types, but now that I've seen his Pikachu's strength, I'm not surprised," Justin said back.

The bolts of lightning hit Starmie, who was able to dodge or take the hits but eventually, it got tired and the attacks got stronger. Staryu couldn't take it anymore and fainted. The room was quiet for two seconds until Ashton and Justin stood up and started clapping.

"Good job King! Good job Pikachu!" Ashton yelled. King had a big smile on his face and picked Pikachu up. "Good job Pikachu," King said as he hugged the electric mouse. "Congratulations on your win, King. You've earned this," Misty said as she grabbed Kings hand and place the badge in his hand. "Thanks Misty," King said.

"As for the other trainer who wants to battle, give me a second to heal my Pokémon and we'll start our battle," Misty said, pointing at Ashton. King ran to the stands and gave Ashton and Justin a high-five. "Nice job King. You did very good," Justin said. "Yeah! You've given me confidence to win my battle," Ashton said. They waited for a bit until Misty walked back to the arena. "Ok! You can come up now!" Misty called out, pointing at Ashton. "Right! Wish me luck guys!" Ashton said. His friends gave him a thumbs up.

He ran to the arena and faced Misty. "What Pokémon will you use?" Misty asked. Ashton reached in his pocket and pulled out a Pokeball. "Go Mankey!" Ashton yelled, throwing it. "Ok then, go Staryu!" Misty yelled, throwing her Pokeball. "Mankey, use Slam!" Ashton said. Mankey ran at Staryu and grabbed it. It lifted Staryu up and slammed it into the ground. "Staryu, get it off of you with your Water Gun!" Misty said. Staryu shot water at Mankey, sending it flying off of it. "Now use Rapid Spin!" Misty called out.

Staryu span really fast and flew at Mankey. Staryu hit Mankey, sending it sliding back. "Mankey, use Mega Punch!" Ashton yelled. Mankey clenched it's fist and an orange aura surrounded it. Mankey jumped at Staryu and punched it hard. Mankey tried to get another punch in, but Staryu shot a beam of water, damaging Mankey.

"Mankey, use Low Kick!" Ashton said. Mankey knelt down and kicked Staryu, knocking Staryu on its back. Mankey kicked Staryu hard, sending it sliding into a wall. Staryu fainted. "Go Starmie!" Misty yelled, throwing her last Pokeball. Ashton called Mankey back to its Pokeball and grabbed another Pokeball. "Go Wartortle!" Ashton yelled, throwing his Pokeball.

"Starmie, use Droplet!" Misty yelled. Starmie shot a big drop of water, which hit Wartortle. It didn't hurt Wartortle too bad, though. "Wartortle, use Water Gun!" Ashton yelled. Wartortle shot water out of its mouth and hit Staryu. "Now Wartortle, use scratch and follow it up with a punch," Ashton said. Wartortle dashed towards Starmie and scratched its jewel. It winded it's fist back and delivered a strong punch. "Staryu, try to get some distance!" Misty yelled.

"Wartortle, get in close and finish it with a Mega Punch!" Ashton yelled. Starmie tried to jump back, but Wartortle was faster and punched it hard, sending it flying. It crashed into a wall and fainted.

"Starmie, return!" Misty said, calling Starmie back to its Pokeball. "Good job Ash!" King exclaimed. "Thanks guys!" Ashton yelled back as he called Wartortle back to its Pokeball. Misty walked up to Ashton and handed him the badge. "You must be very skilled with training your Pokémon," Misty complimented him.

"Thanks," Ashton said. He accepted the badge and placed it in his bag. "Ok guys, let's start heading to Vermilion City!" Ashton exclaimed. The three trainers walked out of the gym and started walking down the path to Vermillion City.

"You guys wanna look for any Pokémon in this field?" Ashton asked. "No thanks. I'm tired from my battle," King said. "Nah. I wanna save energy for the walk," Justin said. "Ok, I'm gonna run ahead and try to find new Pokémon!" Ashton said as he ran forward, leaving the other two behind. "He has way too much energy," King said. "Yep. He's always been like this. Let's try not to fall behind," Justin said.

Bonus scene: Kings face was turning a little red. "Hey King, your face is turning red," Justin said. "Oh," King said. Justin was confused, but then he figured it out and decided to tease his younger friend.

"You're thinking of Misty aren't you?" Justin teased. King started blushing heavily. "What?! No I'm not!" King said. Justin knew King was lying. "It's ok King. You'll have a chance with her," Justin said as he started laughing. Even Pikachu was laughing, teasing it's trainer. "Shut up guys," King said as he put his head in his shirt out of embarrassment.
