Three trainers leave Pallet Town and travel across the Kanto and Johto regions. Along the way, they meet lots of friends and enemies and compete in the Kanto Tournament League and the Johto League.
After an hour of walking, the four boys decided to take a break. "Man I'm so tired," Ashton said. Then his stomach rumbled. "And hungry".
"I can cook something for you if you guys can go get some firewood," Justin said. "Right! Let's go you two!" Ashton exclaimed. Okotsu and King sighed. He ran into the woods and the other two followed behind him
"Ok, pick up the biggest sticks you can find," Ashton said. The three split up and started looking for any big sticks. He started picking some up. Pretty soon, he had a bunch of them. "Right, now I should head back. He was about to turn when he heard a stick snap behind him. He turned and saw a purple bug Pokémon with eyes that looked like a flies eyes.

"Woah, what type of Pokémon is this?" He asked out loud. He grabbed his Pokédex and scanned the bug. It was called a Venonat. "Alright Venonat, you're coming with me!" Ashton exclaimed. He put his Pokédex away, put his firewood on the ground next to him, and grabbed a Pokeball out of his Pocket. He threw it in front of him. "Go Wartortle!" He said.
"Wartortle, use Water Pulse!" Ashton shouted. Wartortle opened its mouth and ring-shaped beams of water flew at Venonat. Venonat jumped out of the way before the attack could hit and ran towards Wartortle. It shook its body and a yellow powder came out. "It's trying to use Stun Spore! Wartortle, dodge it and use Mega Kick!" Ashton yelled. Wartortle jumped out of the yellow powders range and once it was all out of the air, Wartortle dashed towards Venonat and kicked it hard, sending it flying into a tree. Venonat jumped off of the tree and slammed its whole body into Wartortle.
"Wartortle, use Low Kick!" Ashton yelled. Wartortle did a sweep kick, knocking Venonat off its feet and making it land on its back. Ashton grabbed an empty Pokeball and threw it at Venonat. The ball absorbed it and shook three times. It glowed green. "Yes! I caught a Venonat!" Ashton exclaimed as he grabbed Venonats Pokeball and put it in his bag. He called Wartortle to its Pokeball and picked up his firewood. He walked back to Justin and the others. "Ok, now put the firewood on the ground and ask Charmander to make a fire," Justin said.
Ashton called Charmander out. "Charmander, set those sticks on fire," Ashton said, pointing at the firewood. Charmander made a small fire and burned the sticks. Justin grabbed a pan and some bacon. "It's just a quick meal. We can get a proper meal when we get to Celadon City," Justin said. Once the bacon was cooked, he put them on some plates he had and handed them to the other three boys. Everyone started eating. "Man, I'm glad Justin knows how to cook. I was worried we were gonna have to starve all the time on our way to different cities," Okotsu said. King nodded in agreement.
Ashton was eating and looking around when he saw a kid walking down the road, looking at a piece of paper. The kid noticed them and walked over to them. "Um hello. Are you guys on your way to Celadon City too?" The kid asked. "Yeah, we are," Ashton asked. "That's cool. Have you guys heard of the Celadon Festival?" The kid asked. Everyone shook their heads. "Want me to take you guys? I have a map right here," The kid asked, turning the map so everyone could see. "Yeah sure," Justin said. He grabbed his pan and placed it in his bag.
