The next morning, Ashton woke up and got out of bed. He took his pajamas off and put his clothes on. He grabbed his hat and put it on and ran to the door. He opened the door and saw his mom waiting for him, holding a plate of breakfast.

"Hi Sweetie! I made breakfast for you so you can be energized for your battles today!" His mom said with a smile on her face. "Thanks Mom! I really appreciate it!" Ashton said happily and he grabbed the plate. He and his mom started walking to the Indigo Plateau building while he ate his breakfast.

"So Ashton, are you excited? You'll have the whole Kanto Region watching your battles!" His mom said. Ashton finished his breakfast and put the plate in his bag. "Of course! I love battling strong trainers and I know my friends are strong!" Ashton said with a smile on his face. His mom smiled at his enthusiasm.

"Well I want you to know that I'm rooting for you the most! Get out there and do your best!" His mom said. "Thanks Mom!" Ashton said. He got to the waiting room and turned and hugged his mom. "I'll see you later, sweetie. Have fun!" Ashton's mom said. Ashton nodded and walked in the waiting room while she walked to the stands.

He walked inside and saw Justin, Toru, King, and Okotsu talking. Eric was in the corner, looking at his Pokedex. "Hi Guys!" Ashton said, walking to his friends. "Hey Ash! They're about to announce the battles!" King said. "Yeah! I can't wait to see who I'm battling!" Okotsu said. "It's so exciting! Good luck guys!" Justin said.

Eventually, the intercom turned on. "Hello everyone! Today we'll continue the next round of the tournament! In a second, we'll announce who will battle who and then we'll start the first battle. For the first round, the trainers Ashton and Okotsu will battle!" The announcer said.

Ashton and Okotsu looked at each other and grinned. "Good luck Ash! May the best trainer win!" Okotsu said. "You too Okotsu!" Ashton said.

"The next battle after that will be between the two trainers, Justin and Toru!" The announcer said. Justin and Toru looked at each other. "I can't wait to see how much stronger you've gotten, Justin!" Toru said. "You too. You must be really strong by now!" Justin said.

"The final battle after that will be between trainers King and Eric!" The announcer said. King looked across the room and saw Eric staring at him. King just gulped with nervousness.

"With that, will trainers Ashton and Okotsu please walk to the Battle Area?" The announcer asked. Ashton and Okotsu stood up and walked to their gates. "We're gonna stay here and watch your match on the screen," Justin said. Ashton and Okotsu nodded and made their way to the Battle Area. They got there and saw almost everyone from the Kanto Region there.

They got to the arena and the judge walked up to them. "Hello Everyone! Welcome to the first match of the second round!" The judge said. The crowd cheered.

"Before we start, I'd like to say that this match is gonna be an unforgettable one! Both trainers here have both shown incredible strength and potential! How are you two feeling?" The judge asked.

"Honestly, I'm kinda nervous! Okotsu's a great trainer and a great Pokemon breeder!" Ashton said. "I'm also kinda nervous! Ash is a really powerful trainer and he's determined to make his goal of becoming a Pokemon Master come true!" Okotsu said.

"Right! With that, both trainers send out your Pokemon and begin the first match!" The judge yelled. Ashton and Okotsu grabbed their first PokeBall and threw it forward. Ashton sent out Haunter and Okotsu sent out a Victreebel. "Let's start! Haunter, use Shadow Ball!" Ashton shouted. Haunter made a ball of dark energy and threw it at Victreebel. Victreebel tried to catch it with a vine, but was too slow and got hit bythe Shadow Ball.

"Victreebel, use Giga Drain!" Okotsu yelled. Victreebel shot a vine at Haunter and wrapped it around Haunter. Victreebel tried to absorb Haunter's life energy, but couldn't for some reason. "Giga Drain absorbs life energy from an opponent, but you forgot one thing! Haunter is a Ghost and doesn't have life energy!" Ashton shouted.
