Three trainers leave Pallet Town and travel across the Kanto and Johto regions. Along the way, they meet lots of friends and enemies and compete in the Kanto Tournament League and the Johto League.
Ashton and Blastoise walked through a small hallway while many thoughts ran through Ashton's head. Many of them were strategies for his upcoming battle with Lance and some of them were other things like how his friends were doing. He arrived at a door and opened it. Inside, Lance was facing so that his back was facing Ashton. "A new challenger has arrived. What's your name?" Lance asked without turning around. "(Has he been standing here the whole time waiting for someone to walk through that door?)" Ashton thought as a sweat drop formed on his head.
"My name is Ashton! I'm here to defeat you so I can compete in the Johto League!" Ashton said determinedly. "Ashton? Are you the same Ashton who competed in the Kanto League Tournament?" Lance asked. "That's me! I might've lost then, but that doesn't mean I'll give up on my dream of becoming a Pokemon Master!" Ashton said. Lance smiled at the young man's determination and finally turned around to face Ashton.
"I know how strong you are. You were able to hold your own against the Kanto Champion. I might not be as strong as the Kanto Champion, but dont underestimate me or that will be your downfall! Now, as you know, I'm a master of the Dragon Type, which have very few weaknesses. The Dragon Type is the most Superior Typing. I will demonstrate in this battle! Now then, Go Gyarados!" Lance shouted as he threw his first PokeBall forward. Lance's Gyarados came out and roared loudly.
"(If I want to win this, I can't hold back at all! That means I need to use some of my strongest Pokemon!)" Ashton thought as he grabbed a PokeBall off his belt. "Go Zapdos!" Ashton shouted as he threw his PokeBall forward. Zapdos came out and squawked loudly. "You're using Zapdos, huh. I take it you're not gonna hold back?" Lance asked. "Yep! Now Zapdos, use Thunderbolt!" Ashton called out. Zapdos flapped it's wings and a bolt of electricity flew at Gyarados and shocked it.
"Gyarados, use Dragon Breath!" Lance said. Gyarados opened it's mouth and fired purple flames at Zapdos. Zapdos flew out of the way, dodging the attack. "Gyarados, hit it with a Hydro Pump attack!" Lance said. Gyarados opened it's mouth again and fired a huge beam of water that hit Zapdos this time. "Zapdos, use Drill Peck!" Ashton said. Zapdos flew at Gyarados and started pecking it really fast. "Now use Electro Ball!" Ashton said.
Zapdos flapped it's wings and a ball of electricity formed. Zapdos flapped it's wings once again and the Electro Ball flew at Gyarados and shocked it. Gyarados fell out of the air and fainted. "I didn't think Gyarados would go down so easily. No matter. My other Pokemon are just as strong!" Lance said as he called Gyarados back to it's Pokeball and grabbed another. At the same time, Ashton called Zapdos back to it's Pokeball and put it back on his waist. He grabbed another PokeBall off his belt and he and Lance threw their PokeBalls at the same time.
Ashton sent out Ho-Oh and Lance sent out a Pokemon that looked like a brown pyterodactyl.

"Woah! What Pokemon is that?!" Ashton exclaimed while Lance stared at Ashton and Ho-Oh in shock. (Is... Is that the legendary Ho-Oh?! No! Nows not the time to freak out! I have to stand my ground and battle! For my pride as a Dragon Tamer!)" Lance thought as he wiped some sweat off his forehead.
"This is Aerodactyl, one of the fossil Pokemon! I met a scientist who made a machine that can bring extinct Pokemon back from fossils!" Lance said.
"Sounds interesting! Now let's start! Ho-Oh! Use Flamethrower!" Ashton called out. Ho-Oh opened it's beam and fired a beam of fire at Aerodactyl. "Aerodactyl, dodge and use Ancient Power!" Lance said. Aerodactyl flew out of the way of the fire and closed it's eyes. Suddenly, a purple aura surrounded the ground and chunks of it flew into air. The rocks flew at Ho-Oh and hit it over and over again.
"Now use Aerial Ace!" Lance said. Aerodactyl flew at Ho-Oh extremely fast and slammed its head into Ho-Oh's beak, making it squawk in pain. "Ho-Oh, use Will O' Wisp!" Ashton shouted. Ho-Oh opened it's beak and a purple ball of flames came out. The ball of purple flames flew at Aerodactyl and hit it, leaving a burn on it. "Now use Flamethrower once again!" Ashton said. Ho-Oh opened it's beak and fired another beam of fire at Aerodactyl.
The attack hit Aerodactyl, knocking it out of the air and sending it crashing into the ground. Lance was shocked again. "(Once again he took down one of my Pokemon so easily. How strong has he gotten?!) Lance thought as he called his Aerodactyl back to it's Pokeball and prepared another one. "Go Dragonite!" Lance said, throwing his next PokeBall forward. "Ok Ho-Oh, return!" Ashton said, calling it back to it's Pokeball and putting it on his belt.
He grabbed his last PokeBall off his belt and threw it forward, sending out Entei. "(Now Entei?! How many legendary Pokemon does he have?!)" Lance thought. "Entei, use Flaming Tackle!" Ashton shouted, snapping Lance out of his thoughts. Entei covered it's body in flames and rushed at Dragonite. Entei jumped and slammed it's head into Dragonite, damaging the dragon type. "Dragonite, use Outrage!" Lance said.
Dragonite flew at Entei and began throwing a barrage of punches and kicks at Entei. "Now use Dragon Tail!" Lance said. Dragonite did a full body spin and slammed it's tail into Entei's face, sending it tumbling back. "Entei, use Flamethrower!" Ashton called out. Entei opened it's mouth and fired a beam of fire at Dragonite, burning the Dragon Type. "Now use Blazing Chomp!" Ashton said.
Entei jumped at Dragonite and bit its arm, making Dragonite cry in pain. Entei bit harder, which suddenly made flames erupt from it's body. The flames began to damage Dragonite. "Dragonite, use Slam!" Lance said. Dragonite lifted its arm and slammed Entei into the ground before kicking it hard, sending Entei rolling backwards. "Now use Dragon Rage!" Lance said.
Dragonite opened it's mouth and fired a huge flame at Entei. The flames didn't do anything to Entei. "Entei, use Flaming Tackle again!" Ashton said. Entei covered it's body in flames again and rushed at Dragonite. Entei jumped and slammed it's body into Dragonite's chest again, damaging it. "Dragonite, use Outrage again!" Lance said.
Dragonite began to punch and kick Entei again and before Dragonite could throw its final punch, A Flaming Aura suddenly erupted from Entei's body, making Dragonite jumped back. Entei looked at Dragonite with flames in its eye, making the Dragon Type a little nervous. Entei opened it's mouth and fired a huge beam of Fire that knocked Ashton and Lance to the ground. "Woah! Entei, that's one powerful attack!" Ashton said. "Blastoise!" Blastoise said, agreeing with it's trainer.
The huge burst of flames hit Dragonite, burning it's whole body. Entei stopped spitting fire at Dragonite and fell to its side. Dragonite fell on it's back and fainted. Lance called it back to its PokeBall. Ashton called Entei back to it's Pokeball. The winner of this battle was Ashton.
"I battled a boy earlier who was just like you," Lance said, confusing Ashton. "What do you mean "just like me"?" Ashton asked. "He had blond hair and he was extremely strong and cared for his Pokemon. You remind me of him. Head through the next door and you'll enter a room full of people who managed to beat the Elite Four. Once all the trainers have battled the Elite Four, we'll begin the Johto League," Lance said.
Ashton nodded and he and Blastoise walked to the door and opened it. He walked through it and saw Seven people.
"Ash! You finally made it!" Toru said, making everyone perk up. Eric and Silver looked at Ashton and Scoffed. "Well, if it isn't Ashton! How have you been?" Adrian asked. "I'm doing great! I see you came to the Johto League. I hope you and me get to battle so we can get our rematch!" Ashton said. Adrian nodded in agreement.
Everyone, except Silver and Eric, began to talk until an announcement came over the intercom. "The Johto League exhibition matches have finally ended. Will all the remaining contestants please head to the arena?" The announcer asked. Everyone stood up and walked to the arena. Ashton and Toru both thought one thing as they walked to the arena.
"(I'm gonna show the entire Johto Region how strong I am!)" They both thought.
