Episode 93: Ashton Vs Lorelei! The First Member of the Elite Four

Ashton and Blastoise walked into the room and saw Lorelei waiting for them. "Hello there. You must be my next challenger," Lorelei said. "Yep! My name is Ashton and this is my partner Blastoise! We're gonna beat you and the Elite Four so we can compete in the Johto League!" Ashton said determinedly.

"That won't be so easy. So far, only ten people have managed to beat me," Lorelei said. "Only ten? Yikes. This might be harder than I thought, but we're not backing down, are we Blastoise!?" Ashton asked his starter Pokémon. "Blast!" Blastoise said with determination.

"You and your Blastoise are really determined to beat me. I really hope that you have the strength to back that determination up," Lorelei said. "I sure do! Let's start our battle! Go Aipom!" Ashton said, pulling a PokeBall off his PokeBall belt and throwing it forward. "Aipom!" Aipom cried out. "Let's go Cloyster!" Lorelei said, throwing her PokeBall forward. Her Cloyster came out and opened it's shell, revealing it's face, which has a confident grin on it. "Cloy," Lorelei's Cloyster said.

"Cloyster, use Ice Beam!" Lorelei yelled, starting the battle. Cloyster fired a beam of ice out of it's mouth and at Aipom. "Aipom, dodge and hit it with your tail!" Ashton said. Aipom did a front flip into the air, avoiding the Ice Beam. Aipom flew towards Cloyster, preparing to hit it with it's tail. "Cloyster! Use Protect!" Lorelei said. Cloyster closed it's shell. Aipom slammed its tail into Cloyster's shell, but the move did no damage. "Aipom?" Aipom said in confusion.

"Cloyster, use Rapid Spin!" Lorelei said. Cloyster started spinning really fast and slammed into Aipom, making it go flying back. Aipom landed on its hands and did a flip, landing on it's feet. "Aipom, we have to be smart here. Her Cloyster will just keep protecting itself if we keep using close range attacks," Ashton said. "Aipom. Aipom!" Aipom said, agreeing with it's trainer. "Cloyster, use Spike Cannon!" Lorelei said.

Cloyster opened it's shell and lots of spikes fired out of the shell. "Aipom, dodge!" Ashton shouted. Aipom jumped into the air, dodging all of the spikes. "(That's it! I just thought of an idea!)" Ashton thought to himself. "Aipom, use Double Team and get close to Cloyster!" Ashton yelled. Aipom nodded and a bunch of clones appeared. They all started running towards Cloyster. "Cloyster, use Spike Cannon on those clones!" Lorelei said.

Cloyster opened it's shell again and a bunch of spikes fired at the clones. The spikes hit all of the clones, making them disappear. Cloyster was done and all of the Aipom were gone, including the original Aipom. "Huh? Where did your Aipom go?" Lorelei asked. "Cloy?" Cloyster said as it looked around the room. Suddenly, something painful struck it's head, making it fall over and faint. Aipom had used the clones as a distraction to land a hit on Cloyster without it going back into it's shell.

Blastoise smiled, remembering back when it was a Squirtle and it used a similar move at Pewter City's gym. "I see what you did. I must say, that was a very clever strategy," Lorelei said as she called Cloyster back to it's Pokeball. "Thanks!" Ashton said. Lorelei grabbed another PokeBall and threw it forward. A Dewgong came out.

"Alright Aipom! Come back!" Ashton said. "Aipom!" Aipom said as it ran to Ashton's side. "Good job buddy!" Ashton said, rubbing it's head before calling it back to its PokeBall and putting it back on his PokeBall belt. He grabbed another one and threw it forward. Ursaring came out. "Ok Ursaring, use Slash!" Ashton called out.

Ursaring roared and rushed at Dewgong. It lifted it's arm and scratched Dewgong with it's claws. "Dewgong, use Ice Beam!" Lorelei said. Dewgong shot a beam of ice out of it's mouth at Ursaring. Ursaring was damaged by the attack and stumbled back. "Now use Surf!" Lorelei said. Dewgong fired water out of it's mouth, making the floor wet. Dewgong began to slid towards Ursaring extremely fast, slamming its head into Ursaring's chest and making it fall on it's back.

"Ursaring, get up and use Hammer Arm!" Ashton yelled. "Blast!" Blastoise cheered. Ursaring managed to get up and lifted it's arm into the air. It brought it down fast, slamming it into the top of Dewgong's head. Ursaring delivered a strong kick to Dewgong's face, making it go tumbling back. "Dewgong, use Ice Beam!" Lorelei shouted. "Ursaring, dodge!" Ashton said.

Dewgong fired a beam of ice at Ursaring out of it's mouth. Ursaring ducked down, dodging the attack."Good job! Now use Slash Barrage!" Ashton called out. Ursaring rushed at Dewgong and started scratching it over and over again until Dewgong eventually fainted. Lorelei called Dewgong back to it's Pokeball and prepared another one. "Alright Ursaring, return!" Ashton said. Ursaring turned and walked towards Ashton.

"You did good buddy," Ashton said before calling it back to it's Pokeball. He put Ursaring's PokeBall back on his PokeBall belt and grabbed his next one. Ashton and Lorelei threw their PokeBalls forward at the same time. Lorelei sent out a Slowbro and Ashton sent out Umbreon. "(Slowbro is a Water-Psychic Type, which means Umbreon has the advantage here!)" Ashton thought.

"Ok Umbreon, use Dark Tackle!" Ashton called out. Umbreon covered it's body in a dark aura and ran at Slowbro. "Slowbro, use Psychic!" Lorelei said. "Slowbro," Slowbro said slowly as it lifted it's arm. A pink aura surrounded Umbreon. "Now, slam it into the ground!" Lorelei said. Slowbro lifted it's arm into the air and slammed it back down, making Umbreon float into the air and slam into the ground hard.

"Let's try that again! Umbreon, use Dark Tackle!" Ashton called out. Umbreon covered it's body in a dark aura and ran at Slowbro again. This time, Umbreon slammed it's head into Slowbro's chest. "Now use Dark Pulse!" Ashton said. Umbreon opened it's mouth and a wave of dark energy flew at Slowbro. "Slowbro, use Water Sport!" Lorelei said. Slowbro looked into the air and started spraying water all over the floor.

"Good, now skate all over the room!" Lorelei said. Slowbro began to skate all over the room, with Umbreon trying to keep it's eyes on it. Slowbro began to skate faster and faster, making it harder for Umbreon to keep up. "Umbreon," it said as it began to get dizzy. "Good job! Now use Aqua Punch!" Lorelei called out. Slowbro rushed at Umbreon, covering it's fist in water, and punched Umbreon hard.

"Umbreon, use Swift!" Ashton called out. Umbreon concentrated hard and stars appeared in the air and started flying towards Slowbro. "Oh no! Slowbro, dodge!" Lorelei called out, but it was too late. The stars began to hit Slowbro until it took too much damage and fainted. Lorelei called Slowbro back to it's Pokeball and pulled out her final PokeBall. "Let's do this Lapras!" Lorelei yelled, throwing her ace Pokemon's PokeBall.

Lorelei's Lapras came out and cried with determination in its voice. "Guess it's time for me to use one of my strongest Johto Pokemon! Come back Umbreon!" Ashton called out to his Dark Type Eeveelution. Umbreon ran to Ashton's side. "You did good Umbreon!" Ashton said. Ashton called Umbreon back to it's Pokeball and put it back on his belt. He grabbed his final PokeBall and threw it forward. His Typhlosion came out and roared loudly.

"Ok Lapras, use Ice Beam!" Lorelei called out. Lapras opened it's mouth and fired a  beam of ice at Typhlosion. The attack hit, but didn't do a lot of damage. "W-What?!" Lorelei exclaimed. "You see, Typhlosion here has been training for two months now and is one of my only Pokemon who can hold their own against Legendary Pokemon. Blastoise here is also one of them," Ashton said, praising both of his Pokemon. "Blast!" Blastoise said happily. "Typhlosion!" Typhlosion said with a smile on it's face.

"I see. This doesn't mean I'll give up! Lapras, use Surf!" Lorelei shouted. Ashton simply just smirked. "Typhlosion, use Fire Blast!" Ashton yelled. Before Lapras could spray water at the ground, Typhlosion opened it's mouth and fired a huge blast of fire at Lapras. The attack hit, causing a huge explosion that shook the entire room. When the dust settled, Lapras was on its side. It had fainted. Lorelei called Lapras back to its PokeBall. "Good job Typhlosion!" Ashton said before calling it back to it's Pokeball and putting it on his belt

"I must say, I wasn't expecting to go out so easily. You show great potential as a trainer," Lorelei said. "Thank you! Me and my Pokemon have trained hard to become Pokemon Masters!" Ashton said. "With your strength and love for your Pokemon, I could see that dream becoming a reality. Go forward and beat the rest of the Elite Four. Compete in the Johto League and show everyone your strength," Lorelei said.

"I will! Let's go Blastoise," Ashton said. He and Blastoise walked to the door behind Lorelei and walked to the next door, where the next Elite Four member would be waiting to battle him at.
