Three trainers leave Pallet Town and travel across the Kanto and Johto regions. Along the way, they meet lots of friends and enemies and compete in the Kanto Tournament League and the Johto League.
Our heros have finally arrived at Olivine City and were taking in the sights of the city. "Wow this place is beautiful," Justin said. "Yeah! There's the ocean over there!" Okotsu said. "Yeah! Maybe you can go for a swim later, Blastoise," Ashton said. "Blast!" Blastoise said with a smile. They walked down the street and saw a familiar red headed trainer. "Oh great, it's Silver," Justin said in an annoyed tone.
Silver turned and noticed Ashton and his friends walk near him. "Oh, it's you three. There's no need to be alert. I'm not wasting my time with weaklings like you. Speaking of weaklings, the gym leader isn't here. She's supposedly taking care of a sick Pokemon at the lighthouse. Hmph. Why bother? Just let the poor thing go. A Pokemon that can't battle is useless," Silver said. Justin, Okotsu, and Blastoise were shocked that silver said that, while Ashton had a furious look on his face.
"How could you say that? Pokemon aren't just used for battle! They're our friends and partners. You want to be the strongest, but having strong Pokemon isn't the only thing that makes you a strong trainer! It's your bond with your Pokemon that makes them strong!" Ashton shouted angrily. People stopped on the street and heard the boy's words. Some were shocked while some agreed with him.
"Whatever. I don't have time to listen to you losers be sentimental about weak Pokemon. You should go to the lighthouse. Maybe going there will make you get a little stronger," Silver said before walking away. "I can't believe that he just said that," Okotsu said. Ashton was still angry and breathing hard, while Blastoise and Togepi patted his back to make him feel better. Meanwhile, in the crowd of people, one white haired boy had heard what Ashton said and walked away.
"(He might be a loser, but he cares for all Pokemon. That's the only thing I'll ever respect about him.)" Eric thought as he walked to the Pokemon Center.
"Hey calm down Ash. He's gone now. How about we go to the lighthouse. Silver said the gym leader was there and if there's a sick Pokemon there, I want to be there to help," Okotsu said. Ashton breathed out and calmed down. "Yeah, ok. Let's go guys!" Ashton said. His friends nodded and they all walked to the lighthouse at the beach.
They got to the lighthouse and opened the door. They saw a huge spiral staircase heading to the top and walked up the stairs. They walked in silence until they got to the top of the lighthouse, where they saw a girl with light brown hair and two pieces of hair sticking up.

She was kneeling down while rubbing a yellow Pokemon's head.

"Um hello? Are you the gym leader?" Justin asked. "Oh yes. I am. Are you here to challenge the gym?" The girl asked. The three boys nodded. "Well I'm sorry, but I can't accept any battles right now. You see, Amphoras right here is too sick to light up the sea. There's a medicine that could make it feel better, but it's at Cianwood City on an island near the beach of Johto. I would go, but I can't leave Amphoras here. May I ask that you three please go there and get the medicine. Please!" The girl said. Ashton stepped forward and kneeled in front of Amphoras.
He rubbed it's head before looking at the girl. "Of course! I'm not gonna let a sick Pokemon stay sick! Are you three coming with me?" Ashton asked his friends. "Of course!" Justin said. "Yep!" Okotsu said. "Blast!" Blastoise said. "Togepi!" Togepi said. Ashton smiled and looked at the girl. "Right! Me and my friends will help you and Amphoras!" Ashton said. "Ok! Thank you three so much!" The girl said. "Don't worry Amphoras. We're gonna get you the medicine you need," Ashton said. He stood up and the trainers walked down the stairs and back to the beach.
"We need to find a dock. Hopefully there's a ship that can take us there," Justin said. "I see one over there!" Okotsu said, pointing in the distance. There was a dock that was nearby. "Then let's go!" Ashton said. The trainers started running down the shoreline and eventually reached the dock. They saw a ship that was docked. "It's our lucky day! Let's hope the driver of the ship lets us ride there," Ashton said.
"Ah, if it isn't the young lady from Kanto. I'm glad you made it!" They heard someone say. They turned and saw the captain who drove them to Cinnabar Island back in Kanto. "It's you! The captain!" Ashton exclaimed. "Yep! You can just call me Captain John! I take it you lads need a ride to Cianwood Island?" Captain John asked. The boys nodded. "Well hop aboard then. I was just heading there myself," Captain John said. That's when he noticed something. "Say, where's your other little friend? The one who became the Champion of Kanto?" Captain John asked.
"Oh, he's still in Kanto. He had stuff to do there, so he stayed behind. It's just us three," Okotsu said. "I see. Well hop aboard and we'll start sailing there now," Captain John said. They were about to get on the boat when they heard someone yell "Wait!". They all turned and saw Toru and Leaf running to the dock. "Oh, its Toru and Leaf," Justin said. They got to the dock and started catching their breaths. "Hey Toru and Leaf. Do you guys need a ride as well?" Okotsu asked.
"Yep! We need to go there because there's a gym there," Leaf said. "Really now? Looks like we now have another reason to go," Justin said. "Well let's get on the ship and sail there," Ashton said. Everyone got on the ship and Captain John started sailing the ship down the sea.
Two hours later, our heros were all relaxing on the ship. Ashton and Toru were fishing, Justin was sleeping, Okotsu was giving Togepi a bath, and Leaf was feeding Blastoise.
"You get a bite yet?" Ashton asked. "Nope. Any luck with you?" Toru asked. "Nah. Don't see how, considering the waters are calm today," Ashton said. Suddenly, they both got a bite and pulled the fishing rods hard. They gave one last pull and two Magikarps flew out of the water. "Two Magikarp. Guess they were just hanging out. Let's put them back in the water," Toru said. They both grabbed the Magikarp and tossed them back into the ocean before going back to fishing.
After thirty minutes of sailing, the ship had arrived at the island. "Oh, we're here!" Ashton said. Everyone looked up and saw they were at the island. Captain John sailed the ship to the dock and threw the anchor, docking the ship. They all got off the boat and onto the dock. "Right! You lads and lass go have fun now. We'll all meet up here so I can drive you back to Olivine City," Captain John said.
The trainers nodded before walking to the city. "Right. Hey Ash, me and Justin are gonna go grab the Medicine. You can challenge the gym if you want, or you can come with the two of us," Okotsu said. "I'll go challenge the gym! I'm so excited to get my fifth gym badge!" Ashton said. "Alright. See you later then," Justin said. "See ya guys," Ashton said as Justin and Okotsu walked away. "We'll go with you. I wanna get a gym badge too," Leaf said. Ashton nodded and the three trainers and Blastoise walked down the street, looking for the gym.
