Episode 73: Ashton Vs Morty! The Ghost Type Gym Leader!

Ashton, Blastoise, and Togepi had just arrived at the hotel and were inside the room, telling Justin and Okotsu what happened at the Burned Tower. "There's no way you saw three Legendary Pokemon and they got close to you," Justin said. "It's true! I even got a picture of them!" Ashton said as he pulled out his Pokegear and showed them the picture.

"You actually got a picture of them?!" Justin and Okotsu exclaimed. Ashton nodded and put his Pokegear away. "Seems like you had a fun time there. Anyway, we should all go to sleep so we can go get our Gym badges tomorrow," Okotsu said. "Yeah, ok. Good night guys," Justin said as he fell asleep. Ashton and Okotsu said good night and the boys fell asleep.

The next morning, Ashton was the first one to wake up and started doing his morning routine. He brushed his teeth, combed his hair, took a shower, and got dressed. Justin and Okotsu soon woke up and did the same while Ashton cleaned and fed Togepi and Blastoise. Once Justin and Okotsu were done, everyone walked out of the hotel and made their way down the street. "Man I'm so excited! I'm gonna win and get my fourth Gym badge!" Ashton said.

"Same here! I'm ready!" Justin said. "Same here too. I've been teaching my Pokemon some new moves so I'll be ready. I've also been studying type advantages so we get the edge in battle," Okotsu said.

They arrived at the gym and opened the door. This time it wasn't locked so the boys were able to walk inside. It was really dark inside. "Is it closed or something? Why's it so dark?" Justin asked. Suddenly, a light turned on and they saw Morty standing near the battlefield. "Greetings Challengers! My name is Morty and I am the gym leader of Ecruteak City!" Morty said. He looked at the three boys and saw Ashton.

"Ah, if it isn't Ashton. You've come to challenge me," Morty said. "Yep! I'm gonna beat you and win your gym badge!" Ashton said. "I accept your challenge. So will you be battling me first?" Morty asked. Ashton looked at his friends and they nodded at him. "Yep! Let's do this!" Ashton said. Morty smiled and pulled out a PokeBall. "Then let's begin! Let's do this, Gastly!" Morty said, throwing the PokeBall forward.

"Ok, let's do this, Quagsire!" Ashton said, throwing his PokeBall forward. Quagsire came out. "Quagsire!" It said. "Let's start! Gastly, use Shadow Ball!" Morty said. Gastly made a ball of shadow energy and shot it at Qaugsire. "Quagsire, knock it back with a Water Gun attack!" Ashton said. Quagsire shot a beam of water at the attack, sending it flying back towards Gastly. Gastly was hit by the attack. "Good job Quagsire! Now use Water Pulse!" Ashton said.

Wooper made a ball of water and threw it at Gastly. "Gastly, dodge and use Poison Spit!" Morty said. Gastly flew out of the way of the attack and spit poison at Quagsire. "Dodge and use Water Pulse again!" Ashton said. Quagsire did a backflip, dodging the attack, and made another ball of water. It threw it at Gastly again, this time hitting it. Gastly flew back and fainted.

Morty called Gastly back and grabbed his second PokeBall. "That Quagsire is strong! It won't beat my Haunter, though!" Morty said as he threw his second PokeBall forward. A Haunter came out. "Quagsire, use Water Gun!" Ashton said. Quagsire shot a beam of water at Haunter. "Haunter, dodge it!" Morty said.

Haunter flew to the side, dodging the water attack. "Good! Now use Shadow Punch!" Morty said. Haunter covered it's fist in shadow energy and flew really fast towards Quagsire. Haunter punched it in the face, making it stumble back. "Now use Shadow Ball!" Morty said. Haunter made a ball of shadow energy and slammed the attack into Quagsire's face, making it tumble backwards and faint in front of Ashton.

"You were great out there! Return!" Ashton said, calling Quagsire back to it's Pokeball. He grabbed another and threw it forward. "Let's do this, Cyndaquil!" Ashton shouted. Cyndaquil came out and spit out a little fire. It breathed out and fire started shooting out of it's back. "Haunter, use Hypnosis!" Morty said. Haunter's eyes turned red as it tried to make Cyndaquil fall asleep. "Cyndaquil, don't look at it's eyes and use Flamethrower!" Ashton said.
